Originally due for release sometime in April, there was, of course, less than two days left to make that deadline. Valve gave no reason for the delay.

Steam for the Mac will bring with it Left 4 Dead 2, Team Fortress 2, Counter-Strike, Portal and the Half-Life series.

Why download Perian when you can just d/l VLC and have all your troubles go away?

I use VLC to watch anything. It's probably your best bet.

Movist is better than VLC imo, but VLC can play some really shitty files that other players can't.

i recently updated my mac os x and now my safari layout/look is different. also one thing i noticed is EVERYTHING is a lot more laggy: sites, adium chatting, etc

May 05, 2010 @ 21:39:57
love my mac.
May 05, 2010 @ 21:41:48
For all that switched from a PC to a mac, how was the transition and learning all the new functions? And also should I be concerned about my jailbroken iphone and downloading of movies and music with the mac?
May 05, 2010 @ 21:44:54
Transitioning was easy. I just put my files onto an external and moved them over. OSX really is as simple and intuitive as it's made out to be.
May 06, 2010 @ 01:18:52
The only thing I fucking hate about safari is that when there are big gifs on a page it will freeze! None of that happens with Firefox but I love Safari too much to stop using it smh

I had taken the words out of his mouth and filled it with fart.

Quick question, is buying a mac worth it?
May 06, 2010 @ 13:46:11
^At least speaking from first hand knowledge, a majority of architectural firms use Windows based computers because the industry standard CAD software, Autodesk's AutoCAD software, is Windows exclusive.

However, the new Macs do come with the ability to dual boot into Windows via BootCamp. If you're a student, you can get Windows 7 for dirt cheap so you can enjoy OS X and W7 on your Apple computer.
May 06, 2010 @ 14:15:04
^Yes, really lol. I've never seen any of my architecture profs bring a mac to lectures. That doesn't mean that there aren't any macs in an architecture firm, it means that they aren't used for actual CAD work, and are relegated to more design-y work that make use of Adobe's Creative Suite products.

Macs in a design firm, and probably an interior design firm make sense (though I have no knowledge of the software IDs use).

I've been a PC guy for a long time, and Windows 7 was really an improvement, but there just wasn't anything on the PC side that made me happy when I needed to replace my laptop. A lot of people say that Macs are overpriced, but they also tend to overlook the details (of a Macbook Pro at least): Magsafe, glass trackpad, unibody design, ambient light sensor, automatic graphics switching, etc. These things are either non-existent in the PC world, or they are implemented poorly compared to Apple's own implementation.

anyone know any rumors about when the macbook i3's are dropping?

i don't want a pro, but i don't want a core2duo white macbook if a i3 macbook is going to be released soon. I heard they're coming in july, but not from too reliable of a source. anybody have any ideas??

that'd suck to bbuy one a week before the new joints come out...
