Candy Bar - lets you change icons including ones on the dock
Snood - game, time killer
Adium - chat client, does aim, gchat, msn, etc.
Growl - comes with adium does notifications in the corner
iStat - runs in your menu bar and gives you system info like cpu use, mem use, hard drive space available, temps, fan speeds, etc
App delete - when you delete a program on a mac it normally leaves files behind, use this and it gets everything
VLC - video player that does wmv and other formats quicktime doesnt support

Everything is free except for candybar and that only $30.

thanks man

Really considering copping a Macbook Pro 13-inch screen with the 250g HD. But, I've heard that they're coming up with newer models soon. Truth?

Just trying to get of my huge desk, get something a lot smaller.

I wish I had a Magic Mouse.
But its not surprising it would die in 3 weeks. It would be cool if they had a charging dock & shit.

The magic mouse is great, i got some energizer rechargables and its gravy.
I took a hammer to my mighty mouse, that scroller ball was the biggest piece of junk

MBPs are probably only going to see one big update this year, lots of people anticipated them coming sometime later this month but at least before the summer would be a safe bet. im waiting for the student discount lol

Open Office is killer. Much better program than Microsoft Office, I think.

I don't see what's so confusing about Word. If you mean the lack of a ribbon, that will be solved on the next version. But I download all my software, so it's all good.

You can already play steam games on mac. I play CZ on mine all the time....
But it would be dope to have Steam on Mac so I wouldn't need Crossover.

I had taken the words out of his mouth and filled it with fart.

i have a question to those who customize their icons. why is it that some .png files will not show up properly when i go into "get info"? all it shows is a generic preview icon, and when i try to copy/paste it, thats what shows up not the actual picture i want.

also who knows how to customize the separator line? i found a .png file that works, but idk how to get into the "get info" of the separator.

thanks.
