Aren't iMacs better value, as opposed to MacBooks? I mean, the battery life of notebooks in general is enough to put me off, along with the price.

I think so. I mean if you don't need to move around too much, it's definitely better to get an iMac. But I need my notebook at work and I move around a lot as well so notebook is my weapon of choice, heh.

kay so deal at my local bestbuy is this..

mac book pro. 13" 1,199.

student discount 100$ off

and they take off 200$ as well for the itouch promotion..

but the only way they will do this is if i buy mobile me and iwork for 120 both..

total will be about 1,019

i was gonna buy iwork in the long run and mobile me...

is this a god deal? or should i just go to a legit apple store

iMacs are essentially desktops with notebook components in them. The new macbook pros(even though I don't think a 13" should qualify) have insane battery life.

Yes.

That's a pretty nice deal. Besides the fact that you can bootleg iLife/iWork 09, MobileMe is worth the money if you have an iPhone or iMac + MacBook combo, but I'm sure you'll find a use for it since it's just so convenient.

Apple Stores never has deals or specials like that, so don't bother.

hahaha. 1 year after i bought my dell inspiron i was fiendin' for a macbook pro. so 2 years later, i finally saved up for it. it was worth the wait because of how dope this one is compared to 2 years ago.

and for the guy asking if that deal at best buy is good, hell ya. i got my macbook for $1100 with the student discount. and youre gonna get that with mobile me and ilife. get it.

and after about 2 weeks of using this laptop, its fucken amazing. i recently just got a new job fixing computers at this spot in santa monica and their whole infrastructure is based on mac's so this laptop came in handy. im gonna miss my dell. >

At first I thought I had accidentally zoomed in but then why would the classic MAC buttons change???
then after a little searching I found out that Google had changed it.

CHANGE IT BACK!!!!

If you haven't bought it yet you can go to BestBuy & price match that shit. They won't tell you to get mobileme or any of that shit.

Hi I got a question about macbook thinking about getting.
macbook unibody for 750. Perfect condition. everything but no box and applecare until Jan 2010. Good deal?
Intel Core 2 Duo 2 GHz. 2 GB of memory. 13"
Still debating but good cheap price. It's either that or buy new one for 1100.

Cables for another monitor don't rock for 50 bucks they come with that shit. All you need is a screeen, I got a macbook pro 4gb 15 inch on a 21" which was only 200 bucks.
