Alright, bitches.

I go through this forum quite often, and see a lot of bitching about Macs.

Just as you guys have used my "How to Make Your Computer Effective.." thread, treat this thread with at least some respect (Mag, I see you, jk.)

Anything Mac related goes here. Programs, suggestions, advice, customizing, etc.

Let's start it off.

I just got a 13" MBP today.

I have some questions:

1.) When should I calibrate my battery? I've been using it ever since I opened it. It started with 82% battery life, and is now 58%.

2.) What program do you prefer for torrenting? Transmission, uTorrent, etc?

3.) Is there any way to right click on a file and deleting it from there? It gets annoying having to drag it to the Trash.

3.) Dragging and dropping is a little fucked. Everytime I drag a couple of files to the trash, they end up opening. Is it because I'm clicking too hard?

The same goes for when I drag albums to iTunes.

use vuze.

try changing the clicking settings on your system preferences. either that or alter how you click. I really don't like the glass track pad, but there is no other choice.

I've had a few macs... last gen mbp, mba, mb black, imac, alum mb.

Upgrading would be a good idea If you plan on downloading music, My friend had to get an external hardrive for all his music because his ran out of room, But yes If you're going to be downloading things and doing school on it the upgraded space would be a good idea. Are you going to be doing all your school work on it?

Huh? I think you misread his question. He is talking about RAM not Storage Space (Hard Drive Capacity).

The more RAM you have means the better your computer perfoms when you have several programs open. If you are typing papers, downloading music, browsing the web then 2GB of RAM is fine. I am going with 4GB though, just for the hell of it.

Don't be a stupid mothafucka and buy the 4GB RAM upgrade through Apple.

Buy the intro 13" (2.26 GHz). Buy Crucial 4GB RAM ($40-60). Buy Scorpio Blue 500GB hard drive. Install both yourself.

Tutorials are all over YouTube.

Apple overcharges like a mother fucker on things like that. Just get the bare minimum through apple and buy extra ram and hard drives elseshere. Crucial's a dope site. I've used them for all my RAM upgrades.
