Might get for PC. Do you need to be the first one to really know whats going on?

I'd advise it otherwise you'll just be going through tonnes of convos where you'll be reading lots of back story that you don't understand fully. lol.

you'll get preset default choices made up if you don't have ME1 save

and those choices are pretty shit (generally pro-human, generic love interest, good guy)

tho, pretty sure you can find some saves online with some pre-determined choices
Mar 05, 2010 @ 08:37
ive just beaten the game, hate to say it since i hate xbox but goty so far, gow3 you better not dissapoint me
Mar 07, 2010 @ 05:00
from a gameplay perspective, its quite vanilla, but i think it's the extension of the story/character from the first that got me hooked
Mar 07, 2010 @ 18:03
I am quite upset that I didn't understand the story much since it is literally a continuation, but I will still continue it.

I didn't get all the hoopla about it either. But once you get near the end, it's a damn good ending.

I played this for a few hours, but I do not get what is so good about this. To me, it feels like another duck and cover shooting game with linear missions and so forth. I already own a lot of shooting games, and this one feels no different than any of them. But I will give it more of a try before I fully put it down. Plus, I got Bioshock 2 so need to get up in that as well.

I haven't gotten around to playing ME2 yet, but I beat ME1 when it first came out and it was hardly a "duck and shoot" game. I was fucking ppl up with my spells just as much, if not more, than I was actually shooting them.

Mass Effect is definitely more about the story and the characters than anything else.. so go and talk to every single person you see, exhaust all possible dialogue options with your crewmates, and do a good chunk of the side quests and you should be in for a good time.
Mar 07, 2010 @ 18:37
ME2 is more like gears in terms game style, but with biotics
Mar 07, 2010 @ 22:51
mass effect is really story driven, not so much gameplay driven.
Mar 07, 2010 @ 23:10
playing the first one will mos def enhance your ME2 experiance. Im still not a fan of the way the gameplay but i LOVE the story line.
Mar 15, 2010 @ 17:13
im halfway trough the game and its much better then the 1st one
Mar 27, 2010 @ 04:28
ME2 is dope, but like said before, it's too much cover based, and im a charge the battlefield head first type of guy, just cause fucking shit up in a high risk-high reward fashion defines my gaming style. There should've been more Renegade/Paragon actions though. I felt like there weren't as many as I had thought.

And there should be more missions actually driven towards the storyline itself, and not so much recruiting/loyalty missions. I can deal with having a squad of 6 people to choose from. You could take all those loyalty missions out the game and not miss a beat story-line wise, and the game would lose a good chunk of its story-mode.

ME3 needs to be epic as fuck cause ME2 had its high points and low points. 1 and 2 had a total of like 4 or 5 missions pertaining to the story in each game.

its weird though, why release the sequel on PS3 but not the original?

its weird though, why release the sequel on PS3 but not the original?

cos the first game was published by microsoft, so i think the name mass effect is exclusive to the 360

they could release mass effect sigma or something lol

I liked the leveling up in the first one, the second one was too focused on making the game a shooter and forgot about the RPG aspect, but the story again was amazing so that kinda makes up for it
Nov 07, 2010 @ 16:01
thats an awesome way of make the choices valid

i didn't really want to play ME1 again, but ME2, i'd play that alot more
Nov 07, 2010 @ 19:06
i already have this game for the 360 and have beaten it down like 37 different paths already lol, im probably gonna end up buyin this shit again if its under 30 dollars
