What's the deal with all whit AF1s??

I never understood the fascination with all white Air Force 1s, or any all white shoe for that matter. I see a lot of people rockn em-and even in every video about sneakers some dude is talkin about how you gotta have a pair of all whites. So what's the real appeal for these? I hate all white kicks. Looks tacky, like you got huge Tic Tacs on your feet.

Correct!

Although my dad said back in the day you'd get your ass beat for wearing white kicks. Back then white/white was strictly for the ladies.

I myself love AF1's but never in my life have worn a pair of white/white or blk AF1's. I would but I am a shoe head and therefore I like my kicks to look colorful.

It is something special about stepping out in the sun with a fresh white pair and blinding everyone. I'm not a really an all white person anymore but they make great summer utility shoes.

^^^ that's also true. But the Air Force 1 hasn't been the best selling nike shoe every year since 82 because of that. Its the standard urban shoe. What topsiders are to preppy new englanders, air force 1s are to black (among other) people, especially in NYC. Its the choice casual shoe for urban culture (I dont know how else to put it). Everyone and their mom rocks air force 1s in new york it seems like. There are probably a million articles about this. Look it up in the new york times.

It's not about crazy colors at all. I just don''t think an all white shoe, or an all black shoe is dope at all. What's dope about that? It's boring and really reflects the way people try to play things safe or be down. Just cause all whites are the staple in New York, don't mean you gotta rock em too. All whites=zzzzzz

#1 They are classic

#2 Very crisp. They can blind the unshaded eye on a sunny day

#3 (perhaps the most important) All white shoes go with anything. Until you get like a pair of shoes in bunch of colors, the all white is a reliable fall back kick for any fit.
