i have not owned a pair but i really doubt that with the true cost of material, that they are justified by the process, unless something spectacular is going on like every pair is hand-stitched.The most comfortable pair of sneakers i've ever had were some $44 high-top reeboks.I also have to say that the designs of their shoes are "meh".

i should say that since my post, i have bought 2 pairs of visvims (neither at retail price)

i can say that i absolutely love them, and they are worth every penny

whether i'd take the leap and spend full retail on them is still questionable

i own a pair myself and i love the shoes itself but everyone should realize elk leather isn't expensive nor high in quality.

price does not do justice.

I suppose it depends on how much your willing to spend, and what your definition of expensive is. I think for the Japanese and European markets, the shoes are still expensive, but I think compared to what you would normally pay for a pair of sneakers, they dont seem that extortionate. For example, if I were to go to Size (Uk sneaker chain) and buy a pair of dunks, nothing special just general release dunks, it would cost me about $120-160, thats a lot more than what people in the states pay, but thats the norm over here. Putting it further into perspective, Jordans can cost upwards of

i want to own a pair, but that price is too expensive for my wallet right now. And the thing about these shoes I think is this, will they get worn down really fast or are they durable, and the whole thing about the jacking of models from shoe companies, i don't think about it like that. Yeah shoes look like other shoes, a boot will look like any other boot, a boat shoe will look like any other boat shoe, it really matters if they do it right or not. Also think about it like this, don't look at the shoes they are "jacking" as a model of shoe, but look at it like a type of shoe. Converse and Vans is so classic that it isn't just models anymore, but an archetype for a type of shoe. Just my two cents to a dollar.

Kiefers and Cyphers still have vulcanized soles, which get chewed up real quick. My Serra boots are unbreakable though.

Visvim is great. Very good quality. Sure its expensive and they bite off designs but they have quality products.

Love the FBTs, Kiefers, Logans, and their backpacks. I probably can't afford any until I get a decent paying job though. But, if I could I'd cop in a second.
