I saw this tee on last year (if it was one

such a shirt designed, let me know.

Well, Heavens to Betsy, alotta you seem to have your bloomers in a bunch over this kinda stuff. In this context, exactly what does the term "straight edge" refer to anyway, and why are y'all so hot and bothered about it? Please school me, young laddybucks.

hahaha... and i bet its nothing but suburban wannabe tough guys who buy that shit... same kids who in 20 years will be nice right wing republicans. my local drug dealers dont bother me... i see em on the corner, they are nice, asking me if i need anything, i say no, they go back to standing on the corner. the cops are the fucking problem... they contain the drugs to certian neighborhoods... they know whats going on, and dont stop it till it gets too close to the nice houses with rich white folk living in them.

it's a lifestyle that was inspired by a minor threat song called straight edge. pretty much means living without using drugs, alcohol, and some people abstain from causal sex as well.

since straight edge is associated with the punk and hardcore communities chances are they're more liberal than other people.

See now my main problem with straight edge peeps is that they think they know all. And just because someone drinks a little they are in the wrong. Plus they think they are extra hardcore for some reason. To me they need to live a little.

way to generalize. i'm edge and my friends get fucking wasted every weekend and I just laugh at them and drive them home. of course there are some who only have edge in their lives and take it too seriously but there's some like that in every group.

So why are you "edge"? I have no problem with someone choosing not to drink/do drugs, but it seems that the majority of "straightedge" kids that I've met take it way overboard, try to rub it in your face and shove their beliefs onto you and make it seem like its this whole radical hardcore lifestyle. the fuck is that all about? If your gonna chose not to do that stuff then just do you, but stop making a big deal about it, it doesnt make you any better and no one fucking cares about you and your little "I'm better than you because i dont do this stuff" belief system.

And this shirt is exactly what I'm talking about.

Wow, I don't even no where to begin
with this... Yup, you're right, probably
suburban white kids, full of left wing
idealism, wearing stuff like that. But
the rest of what you asserted makes
me wonder if you are quite possibly
the most retarded person on the face
of God's green earth.

For you to sit there and say some
garbage like you just did... do you
have any dignity, dukes? Really,
do you?

I think we can all agree that the
government and New York banks
make a huge profit off of illegal
drug trafficking but for you to
have the balls to say that the
pusherman on the corner is an
okay, kinda guy, makes me wonder
if you really live around this type
of stuff. You address one part of
the problem while turning a blind
eye to the other. Way to go, Mr.
Dead Prez. Way to go, Mr. Trendy
Armchair Revolutionary.

It's like this... Either you're part of the
solution or you are part of the problem.
I have news for you, your "nice guy"
drug dealer is just as much a bottom
feeding murderer as the CIA agent
who wheels and deals with South
American cartel lords.

Let's see you wake up one morning and
look out your bedroom window, only to
see a loved one strung out on some
"yo" -- being coaxed by your stand-up
drug dealer to buy more. I don't think
you'll be on here full of jokes then.

and this is coming from a person that has never touched a bottle in his life. but shit i wish i was a drug dealer.

Is this trend everyone on here is in
a huff about really that bad of a thing?
The only time I've ever heard that term
used, was to describe the lifestyle
of a pro wrestler. So you're saying
this is a movement of sorts?

I guess I'm gettin old in my age but if
you ask me living a clean life and braggin
about it is ok in my book.

Something is seriously wrong with kids
today who piss and moan about another
kid not drinking but have no problem
saying they wish they were a drug
dealer. *shrugs*

You're mad cuz another young kid rubs
in your face that he don't do smack and
you take offense to that? Dude, you
sound like a brat. Please tell me how
many kids in your school you get pissy
at when they rub in your face how many
blunts they smoke or shots they drink.

Wow, this is really something to get mad
about.

I'll try to put myself in the shoes
of someone who lives this lifestyle
based on how it's been described.

straight edge sucks. fuck your pseudo belief system. what are you doing it for? yourself? or the label? would it be the same if you didnt tell anyone?

1) How do you know it's "pseudo" IF it is
yielding real & lasting results in a person's
life?

2) Despite the motive, if one maintains
such a principled lifestyle, what does
it matter to you?

3) Perhaps some like to share their life-
altering experiences with others in hopes
of being a positive influence or simply
because they are proud of it? Again, what
does it matter to you?
