any of you stop wearing those brands?

I am not saying this is true

I am just wondering what affect this would
have on the said brands to you as consumers.... if any at all?

I loved zoo york before ecko bought it, and i still do. But sometimes I wish it wasnt so easy to get and there was soo much product.

But if ecko were to still buy Supreme, aNYthing, as long as they are consistent and not everyone is wearing this shit, im cool

i would still buy the brands if the quality and designs remained the same, I like zoo york and he owns them so ya i doubt it would change anything for me.

Everyone will continue to buy if it was kept on the low, and the information wasn't released to the public. But as soon as word hits the streets that Marc Ecko owns the companies, all of a sudden all the HB's on here will say "aww all there new shit is wack since Marck Ecko bought it" "I can't rock this shit anymore knowing that Marc Ecko owns it" etc etc etc......

It's lame, but the truth.

It's the same shit like people sayin' in my Coogi thread they won't rock Coogi, because the owners of Fubu own it now. WHO CARES, is what I say... If it's hot, it's hot..

I don't wear any of those brands right now, cause none of them have put out shit I like so far. There is a few things Supreme has dropped that I like, but too expensive for what it is. I woulda copped the Phase hoody or crewneck, but they were a lil too pricey for me.

It's not like Echo is shit. EVERYONE had/has ecko. It's just he has a problem with over saturation. Marc Ecko knows whats up, I mean look at complex mag. Hate him or love him, he's a force to be reckoned with. the FUBU team is a whole other story. I mean you can't even compare the two, Fubu has to start over (coogi), Ecko is still in business, and business is booming.

If he was to buy those brands, I would *hope* he wouldn't sully their names, he knows the significance of these brands (although if he would I'm sure he would def blow aNYthing and AG into the mainstream). Even though money is to be made, I think he would keep Zooyork the mainstream oversaturated skate brand, and release Supreme to boutiques, to not oversaturate it, but also to not make it limited to people in LA, NY, and Japan (similar to what they are already doing with stores like commonwealth). I already believe that is what happened since Supreme is expanding, and I heard rumors on the internets that aron was done with aNYthing.....(but those are rumors right

But i'm just going off on a tangent.

Interesting question. All the brand image stuff aside, it makes sense, Echo has growth issues and this could buy them growth at a reasonable price (I would think). That being said, if something like this was to go down, I would be concerned that Echo would try an influence design, distribution and marketing. Echo needs department store numbers so with any of these brands, I figure the bigger they get the harder it will be to maintain their brand image. Although Echo would bust these brands out, the average consumer would pick up where the hypebeaster left off. Good question.

Regardless who bought what, as long as the brand stays true to its market and keeps things constant, consumers will support.

It really wouldn't change my views on any of the brands mentioned above.

im sure they'd still put out solid product, but no matter what, it'd still taint supreme's image. they're a complete in-house independant operation, and their exclusiveness is a big part of the brands appeal. something as simple a white Supreme box t says so much, while saying so little. if a bigger brand were to buy them out, they'd clearer expand their distribution, which is sort the antithesis of what supreme reps.

theres no point of ecko to buy supreme and keep it the same. how much do you think jebbia makes from six stores +couple distribution deals? enough to live comfortably, but not enough for ecko to buy and keep the same. so, when ecko buys......they are planning some expansion of distribution. this might mean a couple more commonwealth-like deals, or it could mean supreme will be in every shopping mall. the end
