Supreme x New Balance makes no sense. They're too much of a fad and have no relation to skating or New York.
"NB is a fad" LMFAO.
new balance fits the same american heritage brand mold as levis, clarks, timberland. so yeah, it makes a ton of sense
awesome idea
been done by other companies a million times no point
who cares, it would still be dope

edit: im unaware of any other starbucks parody logos...care to share?

@donadamsky You can't deny that New Balance is incredibly popular right now in streetwear, but they haven't always been such a staple. As a brand maybe, but not in streetwear. New Balance collabs with a lot of brands now and it's not like Supreme to follow such obvious trends. Not to mention Supreme is foremost a skate shop and generally won't touch anything explicitly non-skate related unless it's a classic among the ranks of the AF1.

You must've forgot the tennis shoes they just did for ss13 lol

Those definitely aren't classics among the rank of the af1

That was a collab with Nike SB, they were a skateable version of Nike's Tennis Classic.

it'll be badass if they did it there own way. doesn't matter if other people have done it.
do you really think supremes designs are all original? every single design is influenced by another piece of design.

aint trying to start an argument here just saying the truth.

you guys realize everything supreme does doesnt have to revolve around new york or skating right?

this upcoming hockey jersey is a good example...

yes they will change it up to be related to the brand/new york but its a quebec jersey

where the azn girls at

I know. They were still tennis shoes. They could call them the New Balance/Supreme skateboard 966. It'd be the same shit all they did was put "skateboard" infront of tennis classic @himynameisDA

what way though? theres not much substance in that logo besides changing the text and maybe the girl in it. they arent original but people treat everything they do like it is and its retarded, i see the starbucks logo parodys in fuckin venice beach. i know ur not trying to argue its okay <3

the tennis classic was part of the sb line, supreme didn't just put skateboard in front of it. well i'm pretty sure they were anyway.

yes, NB has had a boost in popularity as of late on a national scale in the urban fashion scene, but the shoes have have a cult following since the 80s in areas like New England and the DMV, as well as NYC a bit later. I dont think being a "streetwear" staple really matters though, Supreme has never been one to do a collab based on how well recieved the collaborating brand is in streetwear/skate culture (kimmel, oakley, thom browne, cdg shirt)

Nor are NB's an obvious current trend imo, now if they did something like an asics gel lyte iii, then yeah, but i think theyre safe save for maybe doing a 999 or mt580

And please tell me what is skate-related about half the brands they collab with...

August 07, 2013 @ 07:09:25
