The tally mark is symbolic of perseverance. As the artist behind the design, it serves a purpose of reminding me of the time and patience it took to get the graphic done, which I had drawn from scratch.
If you, or anybody else were to see the art I produce, you'd understand I have no need to be as unoriginal as to swipe ideas from established companies like that.
Comparisons are bound to be made on few occasions, due to the nature of the design. But PIRA$Y is beyond just one design.
