Phidias Gold, the 10th muse -- for artists by artists. Here is our first collection drop, Winter 2011-2012. This collection features three artist collaborations with Joe King, Zach Shuta, and Francis Vallejo and two in house designs. Every collection will have a strong focus on art and design.

Appreciate the support fellas!
Here are some things to look forward to for 2012 so far...

- Further building out the Phidias Gold figurine and start mass production.

(prototype)

- 3 more additions to the Phidias Gold gallery series. Looking to extend outside of MA while raising the bar.
- Teaming up with Quinitn to drop some head wear.
- Spring, Fall, and Holiday collection drops. Keeping the main spotlight on showcasing extremely talented artist collabs.

Yes we did. Being a brand that is focused around art and design the origin of our name "Phidias Gold" comes from two things:

Phidias - the Greek sculptor, painter and architect. He is looked at as one of the greatest sculptures of the ancient world and sculpted the statue of Zeus, one of the ancient wonders of the world.

Gold – Phidias was said to have been the first artist to utilize the Golden Ratio (golden section) in his art helping him create perfect proportion and images that are naturally pleasing to the human eye. He was also said to have stolen gold while creating the sculpture Athena Parthenos and then died in prison because of it.

Because it is similar to Benny Gold, going forward we are trying to keep the focus on "Phidias" rather than "Gold"

Who I am.. Wesley Eggebrecht

Prier to starting Phidias Gold I graduated from the College for Creative Studies in Detroit MI. After graduation I worked as freelance artist for a little over a year doing apparel graphics and illustration work for companies such as Nike, Burton, Transworld (Skate, Surf and Snow), Converse, The Hundreds, Rook, Hurley, and more. Then two years ago I was hired by Converse as a graphic designer for their SMU footwear department and am working there currently while running Phidias Gold on the side. Art and design is my life and I plan to push that lifestyle through Phidias Gold.

I hope you're all along for the ride.

Artist Reception: April 13th (8-10pm)


Phidias Gold presents the third installment of the Phidias Gold Gallery Series. Stack the Deck, a skateboard art show taking place at the Fourth Wall Project in Boston, MA. What better place to have a skate deck show than a place that embraces loitering punks and flourishing artists. The show will feature works from thirty-one artist with over thirty boards on display. Like past Phidias Gold gallery shows, artists have full creative freedom, so you can expect to see sculptural boards, hand painted boards, laser engraved boards, and 1 of 1 digitally printed boards printed by the best in the business and co-sponsor BoardPusher. All skate decks will be for sale, as well as a limited run of screen printed event posters (seen above). The Distillation Show will also be on display. All liquor bottles are also for sale.

You’re not going to want to miss this! Mark it on the calendar.

We will also be dropping the Spring collection at the show.

Just a recommendation, but i suggest when you sell your tees, you dont put it on a hanger.
It'll look much cleaner if it was laid down flat on a white background or something ;)

Thanks Kim, been debating whether I like that or not lately.. gotta shoot the Spring collection soon..

Also, I agree on the hanger comment, I like the branded hanger (adds a bit of unique flavor) but I don't like the way the shirts wave when being hung. Now to decide which outweighs the other.
