The J. Valentine collab is definitely a dope design. I think that the younger crowd that Diamond generally appeals to is going to have a more difficult time relating to a Valentine's Day/R&B artist themed project, regardless of the product design. It's a damn shame too, as this is easily a better design than some of the other recent projects with rappers.

Well when you think about it, most of the recent designs they've done with rappers is just to give the rapper hype.

the graphic is too close for BS.

Essentially, the Black Scale design was too similar to the CDG imagery and brand name. Nick was probably able to use his design because under Fair Use, you can often use copyrighted/trademarked material if you create a parody which is different enough from the original that the two are easily distinguishable from each other.
