I own tons of north faces and sometimes that happens to jackets after a lot of use but u can just spray it with the water repellant spay they use on boots and hats
not really the water proofing I am concerned about, I am concerned about that guy talking about lining coming out..
O yea that would b a problem if that happened but u do know north face has a lifetime warranty As long as you didn't buy it at a outlet store which they usually color the o in north face they will fix any defect that happens to the jacket like line img comming out or zipper breaking etc you just have to take it into a authorized north face dealer and they will send it out that's how I done it in the past

I sent a few back I have use north faces since 1998 so I sent some back and they repaired them my cousin had a extreme and it costed 400 retail when it came out and he sent it back for repair but it was beyond repair so they sent him a boss 400 jacket in the same size he didn't want it cause of the color scheme and they gave him 400 store credit to buy any north face he wanted
