That's always how ebay is, no one that knows how to bid is going to place one until the last 1 minute of the auction. Just watch it til the end, then place an offer as high as you're willing to pay. If the camp is at $80 with 1 min remaining and you're willing to pay $120 for it, then place a bid for $120. Don't put a bid in for $83 b/c you'll be outbid.
