That's easy, I didn't drop more than $1k on them lol
I paid very close to $1k with shipping once I factored in the exchange rate but Yom didn't rape me with proxy fees and got them considerably cheaper than what other proxies and resellers were charging. I've basically been wanting them for ages, always on the hunt for a pair of 12s and the opportunity came up - couldn't pass. I wouldn't say that they aren't durable as other boots; leather around the ankle area is a bit soft but apart from that I think they'd hold up pretty bloody well.
Anyway it's called fashion, might not always be the most practical item but we all buy things for the aesthetic value.

you think? im a 13 and wear the 12s perfectly, i think its still a size down.
yeah i sized down.
i have a pair of decks, im a 13us in nike, i have the 12 in visvim american deck from 07 i think it was.. the first release.. i cant remember now could be 06.. but i sized down (as with all of them)
i would say if you were a 12 youd still be fine, but as a 13 i found the 12 perfect.
unless the recent rerelease is a bit more true to size im not sure.
going by your situation, 9.5 would size down to 8.5..
remember the folk range uses premium materials, so a little give in the material is going to help you stretch it and get that patina too.. dont go TOO tight
xdrift sounds like you're talking about regular hockney's. the folk line came out in 08SS. i'm a 10.5 in nike's and both my americana deck folks are 11.
