to those of you who own virgils or any visvim boots, how did you convince yourself to spend 1k+ on a pair of boots that aren't as durable as other, cheaper more durable boots such as tims that could go through a ton more wears?

That's easy, I didn't drop more than $1k on them lol

I paid very close to $1k with shipping once I factored in the exchange rate but Yom didn't rape me with proxy fees and got them considerably cheaper than what other proxies and resellers were charging. I've basically been wanting them for ages, always on the hunt for a pair of 12s and the opportunity came up - couldn't pass. I wouldn't say that they aren't durable as other boots; leather around the ankle area is a bit soft but apart from that I think they'd hold up pretty bloody well.

Anyway it's called fashion, might not always be the most practical item but we all buy things for the aesthetic value.

Thanks man, I'm actually not crazy about the sole on these but it's more of a sizing issue, my friend bought these in 11 and I had the suedes in 10, it worked out perfect that his were a little big and mine a little small so we swapped. I miss the suedes already but the leather on these is amazing and the sole will grow on me!

really? not doubting you or anything, but i'm really curious as i see a leather lining of sorts which the ones from 08 and the ones released this season have. 09 was all suede. however, the 08ss versions had a green tpu heel stabilizer. i just never seen that version before so i thought you had the sole reswapped.
