[Diamond Supply Co.] - 2011 Official Discussion Thread

You're missing the whole concept here. Granted I'll be presumptuous and guess you're still in high school? Lets be honest here. Nick devoted his whole life to starting Diamond supply, we can all agree on that. He's not making that much money by only selling tees at the fairfax store and the other diamond stores across the country, don't forget online too. I know damn well that Nick wanted to make money, to be successful. It's that lifestyle. So why not put his clothes in Pac Sun, Zumiez, random skate shops? You talk about 12 year olds crowing the area? If I'm Nick and I see all those kids ther then I know in my heart, that I made it. I go to the mall and I see 20 other people wearing the smoking rings tee? Good for them, better for Nick. I feel like people in this thread try to be elitists and claim that they sold out. So what if they did? It's a moneys game. Bobby sold out too, but he goes to sleep at night knowing he's racking up millions a year making clothed? Nick saw what bobby did and many other streetwear companies and just hopped on the idea.

I used to be against it, but Jay-Z once said "Can't knock the hustle/"

You mean that place that Diamond has been selling to for years?

That place had Diamond before you even knew what it was, but selling to them is killing Diamond?

Yeah great point.

What are you being so salty for? I know that Zumiez has been selling Diamond since '06. I fucking heard that many times so you don't need to regurgitate shit for me. All I know is that Diamond supplied skate hardware for them for the past until it was in 2010 where Diamond started selling it's clothing line. I could care less if they supplied skate hardware for them, because people who shop at Zumiez don't know how to skate shit. It just fucking bugs me the most that I can go to my mall and see a hoard of 12 years olds jumping around the Diamond Supply Co. display area. Is that what you call streetwear? Selling out the image of skateboarding and the LA street scene to more than 380 retail stores across the United States?

What about this, faggot?

So you only want people that you approve of wearing Diamond?

What kind of ignorant shit is that?

That's the same stupid argument that those idiots were having last page - bitching because Diamond sells sizes 2x to Zumiez.

Who gives a fuck? I think your self-confidence is in serious jeopardy if you are so fucking worried about who can wear Diamond Supply and who can't.

I mean how exclusive do you really think Diamond is? They sell $30 t-shirts on Karmaloop, MLTD, Zumiez, and all kinds of other shops across the fucking country. Whoever wants to wear the shit already does. Taking it out of Zumiez isn't going to do anything to make you feel any more special when wearing the shit.

And those shirts you linked to from Pac Sun - it has been said a million times, but they have their own garbage line that no one else gets. Those shirts over there are horrible, so no one cares.

@heisenberg

I could care less anymore about who wears Diamond. At least not anymore. The brand was a lifestyle, more than just a logo. Too bad that phase has come and pass. And don't preach me about ignorance, not from a person like you...
Nov 30, 2011 @ 02:29
if diamond is at zumiez it's at zumiez. if you actually cop there, that's pretty much on you.... support your local shop. fuck mall stores, and remain gettin you're shine on. all there is to it.

You sure you don't care?

Because like 5 minutes ago, it sounded like you cared a lot.

Nick, I agree with what you're saying.

But this kind of shit is putting your brand on a wheelchair...

But honestly though, I know how that shit is. My girls moods flip around like that around this time of the month too. It must just be one of those days for you.
Nov 30, 2011 @ 03:17
^what? I never cared who wore what. I was just trying to protect it's image.....

I don't care if the brand sells in local skate shops lol I would prefer that kind of shit. It's just that when a brand sells to a major chain store, it loses all it's aesthetic values.

I'm so fucking confused why you're so mad. I expect more from a Breaking Bad fan

Because at least for me, I refuse to wear a brand that will have a bunch of assholes with a Size Large t-shirt running around my town.

Honestly, even size Medium is pushing it for me.

I just don't stand for that type of shit. So if you're listening Nicky Diamonds - Small and Mediums only! Or you can continue to lose my business.

I would just say Small only, but I don't want to sound like an asshole.

This is the funniest shit ever

Hahaha I agree. Nick could give a fuck about 1 less customer.

Nick was driving a 7 series back in 08 bro. He was getting his money before he started selling hundreds of thousands of shirts to Zumiez. Back when he said the entire line would never be available at Zumiez or Karmaloop because he wanted the smaller shops to have the exclusives/ be able to compete. Is that not the definition of selling out? Going against your brands philosophy to get that chedda? I'd say it is.

Yo, I'm not mad, I've just been trying to make a point.

There is just nothing that can be done about the Zumiez thing now, so I just don't see the need to keep talking about it.

Honestly, there is going to be plenty of idiots that you wouldn't want to associate with that wear any brand - there is no stopping it. Some people are going to understand what the brand is about, and where it came from, while others are just trying to hop on to some latest trend. That kind of shit is inevitable - I just can't see getting worked up about it.

It's all good though. I was mostly just fucking around - I really wasn't mad at all.

Curren$y once said, "Refused the majors and stayed real, I've kept my promise"

Pretty much sums up what Nick didn't do and which is what bothers me the most. fuck it though

Nov 30, 2011 @ 04:53
Anyway, fuck this topic. It has been discussed to death.

Anyone cop some shit from the monday cyber sale on the diamond site?

I grabbed a red new york hoodie and a black diamond mined stamp t-shirt. I wish I had a little more money to play with to grab some more shit, but I was happy to get the new york hoodie, because it doesn't look like MLTD was going to get it.
Nov 30, 2011 @ 04:54
*Pops popcorn*

Keep going kids.

In the end of all this... is it physically hurting you that other kids wear the brand? Just cop the different colorways that zumiez has. Stop bitching let Nick get his money. Quit being elitist, YOU AREN'T ABOVE ANYONE ELSE.

That's all.
Nov 30, 2011 @ 05:04

Probably because everything I've said went completely over your head.

Maybe you should re-read everything one more time and give it another try.

agreed. if they have the shirt I want in the color I want, why pay shipping online and wait for it to come to me?
other times, they get shirts in colors I don't want, so I go online, just like I do for some limited/exclusive stuff that is only online.

no big deal.
