[J. Crew] - 2010 Official Discussion Thread

Jul 19, 2010 @ 23:20
As far as I could tell there was no existing thread so I made this one.
Anyway, I'm looking into their khakis. Anyone have experience with their fits?
Jul 20, 2010 @ 09:30
i have over 150 items from j.crew im a jcrewaholic. and even though they claim to be tailor-fit, slim fit, its really not. if you really like j. crew button ups, i suggest getting ur normal size and get it tailored yourself. sizing down would be uncomfortable, especially when you try to button up the neck.

I would HIGHLY suggest their bowery pants. They are slim fit and tapered, knee-down. They are great pants, just wish they had better colors!

Not sure how you can say this. It's not like everyone is the same size and proportions.

im saying this based on a 300 page j. crew thread started on another site. At first I thought it was just me.

I love J.Crew, F/W looks pretty good.
Jul 20, 2010 @ 12:03
JCrew, Urban Slim khakis fit amazingly. Theyre a little more slim than whats considered fully skinny, but if they were Levi's they'd be in between 514s and 511s, erring a more on the 511 side.

Cosign, FW10 is the strongest collection they've had in a while. The only mall brand I even look at any more.

THAT SAID, Rugby chinos > J. Crew chinos. Same price point.
Jul 20, 2010 @ 12:36
i still wear my jcrew chambray all the time, and the officers chinos from a few years ago are great too... but alot of the stuff is kinda cheaply made. i see it as a place to get cheap disposable basics for the most part.
Jul 20, 2010 @ 21:54
Shit's so expensive but i love it.
Jul 20, 2010 @ 23:49
Yeah, a lot of their stuff is unnecessarily expensive for the product, but if you know how the product sizes you can almost always find it way cheaper online.
Jul 21, 2010 @ 04:04
Best fitting clothes I've ever worn. Definitely coping the majority of A/W '10. Bought a peacoat from them last season, but unfortunately I don't have it anymore smh

your best bet would be to try them on in store preferably...

but if you have any other shorts 7" they should fit similar, all on body type really.
Jul 22, 2010 @ 18:27
yeah unfortunately i can't try them on in store.

i'm guessing the model is wearing them true to size? cause i'm looking for something a little slimmer than that fit i was just wondering if sizing down 1 - 2 would work for me.
Jul 22, 2010 @ 18:54
What are the measurement for the leg openings for their slimmest fitting chinos?
Jul 23, 2010 @ 00:18
yea def reccomend their sun faded oxfords i copped 5 out of the 7 possible colors lol

j crew has some nice stuff. they make really nice ties, especially seasonal ones. i have a witches on broomsticks and reindeer ties.
Jul 25, 2010 @ 13:54

I am actually wearing these right now. Mine are a size 30 and I am typically a 28, but that's the only size they had in store and I was fine with it. Mine look a bit longer and stop right above the knee, but that is most likely because of the fact that I sized up and have short legs. To answer your question if you are looking for something similar try something else or size down because most likely that model is wearing it true to size.

First shipment of F/W in stores tomorrow....At least that's what my store told me.
Jul 25, 2010 @ 22:49
buddy of mine works there and said wednesday, but maybe the stores are different. seems like it's safe to sasy this week everyone should be getting the first shipment.
Jul 26, 2010 @ 02:56
just started getting back into jcrew.did they ever release a yellow oxford for spring/summer release?
Jul 26, 2010 @ 03:10
i really want to cop the raw denim but don't know anything about them.
Jul 28, 2010 @ 22:44
This store is awesome I recently got into it 2 years ago. I bought their denim and chambray shirts absolutely awesome for layering your look. Also bunch of shirts from them I usually size down from a L to a M and it still looks very nice.
Jul 30, 2010 @ 23:32
looks like blue shades r in store for j crew
Jul 31, 2010 @ 02:44
jcrew has nice things thats for sure, but sometimes theyre overpriced. i copped the jcrew x sperry collabs and i love them. i just wish they would change how their store looks. something about the layout or the design or iono. just bugs me.
