Any prospective Uni people in 2011?
Oct 03, 2010 @ 11:52
What are you thinking of doing mr.orange?
Oct 03, 2010 @ 16:33
American Studies. I don't really know exactly what I wanna do so I'm doing something I'm interested in and will enjoy. Can't turn down a year in America either, love to go to an American college and be that British guy.
Oct 21, 2010 @ 18:49
Lol the shit about topman/primark/H&M heads is too true. And then they have the audacity to mention their swagger smh.

From South East London btwsmokeyface
Oct 21, 2010 @ 18:53
peoplee call london a fashion capital but fuck i know like 2 lads that dress well and a few ladies, the rest just bum h&m/primark/topshop and throw it together.

Lol this is funny cause it's actually true. Aint stepped foot in Topshop and don't plan to either.
Oct 23, 2010 @ 13:42
love to go to an American college and be that British guy.

It works. I ended up getting married to an American girl smokeyface. If you end up going to college make it the west coast (LA, SD, SF), NYC or Chicago. Don't do middle America or the south. Nothing wrong in those places ;-) but the areas I mentioned have a more eclectic attitude and won't be that hard for you to adjust to. In saying that if you're only going for a year - fuck it, do what you like. Plenty of girls to mess with.
Oct 25, 2010 @ 13:13
NYC would be cool, UCLA would be good, Rutgers NJ would be good too. Where did you go?
Oct 27, 2010 @ 09:09
Any prospective Uni people in 2011?

you applied anywhere yet? what's your five choices lookin like?
Oct 27, 2010 @ 11:45
Just polishing my personal statement. Manchester, Sussex, King's College, Canterbury Christ and then one I'm yet to decide.
Oct 27, 2010 @ 14:06
shiiiiiiiiiiit. i'm way too timid to apply to king's or manchester. i'm thinking soas as my wildcard, hull, kent, westminster and keele.

i wanna finish by end of november.
Oct 28, 2010 @ 18:47
I've looked at Kent and Westminster, they're potential for my 5th slot. Manchester is the dreamer though tbh. What're you gonna study?
Oct 28, 2010 @ 23:56
politics -- you gone to any open days?
Oct 29, 2010 @ 09:20
yeah for american studies, manchester is one of the best...its also a good city to be in if i say so myself...
Oct 29, 2010 @ 12:03
Yeah Manch is 2nd in the rankings.

Politics was one of the courses I considered too. I've only been to Manchester and Sussex, you?
Oct 29, 2010 @ 16:26
NYC would be cool, UCLA would be good, Rutgers NJ would be good too. Where did you go?

NYC is only 6 hours away so easy enough to fly back home for a weekend. I didn't go to college out here, just working like a mother fucking slave with fuck all vacation.
Oct 31, 2010 @ 09:22
I haven't been anywhere, not organised enough. I'm approaching applications as though I won't get in, so if I do, it'll be a pleasant surprise.
Nov 01, 2010 @ 14:46
If any of you know what's good for you, you would seriously consider Leeds & Manchester. Just all round great universities

I'm assuming nobody will be applying for Leicester smh
Nov 01, 2010 @ 14:53
Manchester is a sick University, loved it there. I'm considering Leicester! It's good for American Studies but only does 4 year w/ year abroad instead of 3 w/ year abroad like Manchester, and I don't wanna do any more than 3 years.
Nov 01, 2010 @ 19:20
lol I sat in an American Studies lecture today , drunk off my arse, for half an hour copying notes before realising it wasn't my law lecture
Nov 02, 2010 @ 13:22
Hahaha typical Uni life! smokeyface
Nov 03, 2010 @ 09:57
is it really worth trying at one of them redbrick unis like leeds or manchester? i feel like i'd be wasting another fifth of my choices.

edit: registered to the student room, having a fucking panic attack at all this ucas bullshit. fuck.
Nov 05, 2010 @ 01:42
leeds uni yes yes !
Nov 05, 2010 @ 06:16
Any Birmingham heads know what happened to The Candy Store?
Nov 22, 2010 @ 15:07
