The Walking Dead is entertaining but majority of season 2 was some little house on the prairie bullshit lmao

Could care less about Lori, would be sad if either Glenn or his girl died

AMC screwed them on their budget for season 2, this season should be much better.

Yeah I remember hearing about that. Apparently it was something the producers of Mad Men pulled? Never really looked into it.

it's not related to mad men at all. amc own the rights to air mad men and breaking bad, but they fully produce (i.e. finance the production of) the walking dead. so while they dgaf if breaking bad costs 3 mil an episode to make (cos sony makes it) or that mad men's set design is hbo-level (lionsgate), they have to count pennies with the walking dead cos they own it.

mad men is ill btw, only thing fuckin w breaking bad right now imo

Yeah but there was a problem last year between Mad Men, Breaking Bad, and The Walking Dead over budgets. I don't remember the details, but if you Google it you can see. If I remember right, Mad Men wanted such a large budget that they had to cut something like $250,000 from each episode of The Walking Dead and at one point there was concern that Breaking Bad would go to another network.

the only problem with breaking bad concerning money was how it was gonna end. as far as i can tell, amc wanted to pay less for the last episodes and was contemplating an abbreviated final season. and then it worked out for them to order 16 episodes and split em up, since ratings go up every year, that's another dvd you can sell (part 1 and 2) and not needing to renegotiate contracts for a sixth season.

mad men's issue was amc wanting to make the episodes shorter and delaying season 5. matthew weiner has said that even though the network played dumb in public, they made it clear when season 4 finished in october 2010 that mad men would be back in 2012 (to accommodate the killing/walking dead/hell on wheels/breaking bad/not wanting to program outside of sundays) and he wanted it back in 2011. and they wanted to make the episodes shorter for adverts (and i think cut budget, but only through having less regular characters. now i think only don, megan, peggy and a few others are regulars (explaining why people like pete and lane are never in every episode).

you'll notice breaking bad episodes are slightly shorter than they used to be, and newer amc shows like the killing (rip) and walking dead have like 44 minute episodes compared to breaking bad's 46 or mad men's 47.

so yeah w mad men ending in 2014 idk what quality shows amc is gonna have left. i think they had a fluke.

Congrats to Aaron Paul for winning best supporting actor! But Bryan Cranston got robbed. Wasn't expecting the show itself to win, but Homeland did? What a joke.

I absolutely lost my shit in the last 4 episodes of the breaking bad season. I personally think it's good to end the show on a high note. SO much speculation..

like we were discussing earlier many of the movies they watch on tv include shooting scenes in the 5th season. there's another one i think we failed to acknowledge before the scarface reference where we really started to take notice. 3rd episode when walt/jesse cook in the first bug bombed house, they watch the three stooges and the scene features a gorilla shooting a tommy gun at the stooges. doubt the writers would include that bit for no reason...

^ yeah, i picked up on all of the tv references. all very similar. has to be some sort of foreshadowing, but i have an idea when it plays out it will be something none of us expected, even knowing about all the tv scenes.

Just joined this thread and I have been a huge fan of Breaking Bad for over a year now. This show is ridiculous and hands down my favorite show of all time. Nothing even compares to this show, MAYBE The Wire but just MAYBE....
