Not gonna see this in theaters. I hate this new trend of the full on vomit inducing CGI over the top graphics throughout the whole film starting with the 300 film. Gave me a headache watching the ultra vivid colors and excesive slow motion scenes. To me its the equivelant of blowing bubbles in the air for toddlers visually entertaining for a while but hollow inside.. Reminds me of when I had a bad acid trip once. 2 hours of that?...no.

300 was in that style because it was based on a graphic novel, however if you manage to catch any clips of Beowulf, you will see it's a new standard in cgi, it looks very real. On top of that the art direction is clearly based stereotypical medieval values with subdued colours, you won't vomit watching this.

The movie was made in the way the polar express was, waking life, and A scaner darkly, it was rotoscoped. Means actors are filmed as if they were doing a live action scene, then they are just "painted" over, in this case, cg'd over, if that makes sense.

Some scenes are full CG though and could only have been made in CG.

Ehhh, saw it for english class, in comparison to the book- straight trashsad. On its own, its alright, they had 2 writers and you can tell as the movie's tone shifts from a joke to a decent movie. To be honest, just peep it online.

Just saw it on Imax 3D, and if it wasnt for the fact that it was 3D i wouldnt be nearly as hype to watch it. It was a beautiful movie but it got boring at times. The plot left me semi confused (i never read the poem) and i didnt know what was going on at times. Other than that it was a fairly decent movie (excluding the 3D aspects), but with the 3D involved it was fucking jewtastic!

And i must agree with the dude above me, like in the beginning where Beowulf and his dudes first met Grandor, it looked like it was a big joke (all the nude shit and such).

I wish this movie would have come out last year so that I wouldn't have to read the book for my English class.

To put it bluntly it sucked, it was really boring and Beowulf came off as a douche than more of a likable character, and did he really have to get naked every time fought?

Yes a good movie, amazing to see what they can do with cg now. Only parts that were questionable where the running/action seens. where you can tell they were fake. but the slower movements and close shots were really good looking.

the story line as well was good, considering I'm not a fan of movies that are in the mid evil time frames.
