yea, i heard about him not being entirely happy with it. too bad he died when he did, I would've loved to see what he was going to do with AI.

The part about the dreams is tough though....especially at the end of the film when cruise comes back home and finds the mask on the bed next to his wife. Then she woke up and said she was dreaming about a party. For a while I was thinking that maybe they had taken her to the party and drugged/forced her into the antics. Which is why the ending felt so damn creepy to me. but who knows, Kubrick was a maniac.

You should check out Open Your Eyes, Vanilla Sky was the remake of it. Penelope Cruz is in that one too.

ya first saw i saw open your eyes i had no idea what was happening. but then again i saw it in spanish and my spanish isn't all that good. even with subtitles it's quite confusing tho

*Wonders how many people will say 'Memento'*

Memento was brilliant. One of the most refreshing movies I'd seen in a while.

MULHOLLAN DRIVE by DAVID LYNCH is the only movie i could actually say "fucked my head up"..you know its gonna fuck you up before you watch it cause theres 10 clues to help you solve it.. honestly only students at M.I.T. could get this movie on the first try...i recommend this movie to anyone that wants a challenge..

*and dont cheat by looking up blogs and explanations for the film...

1. Pay attention in the beginning: 2 clues are revealed before the credits.
2. Notice appearances of the red lampshade.
3. Can you hear the title of the film that Adam is auditioning actresses for?
4. An accident is a terrible event... notice the location of the accident.
5. Who gives a key, and why?
6. Notice the robe, the ashtray, the coffee cup.
7. What is felt, realized and gathered at the club Silencio?
8. Did talent alone help Camilla?
9. Notice the occurrences surrounding the man behind Winkie's.
10. Where is Aunt Ruth?

The film obviously was not meant for people like you. Don't take it to heart. Really.

Lynch himself stated that there is no definitive answers to the movie. All the IMDB message board trolls and MIT students are gassing themselves out trying to "get" this film.

I saw the spanish original in spanish class. Its better in my opinion. Also, Donnie Darko, what the fuck.

yeah, Abre los Ojos. subtitles just piss me off though (cough cough passion of the christ).

never really seen any movies that i didn't get, there are a couple movies where i leave the theater thinking about how everything sort of fell together but eventually it all makes sense. usually i just get the pissed off feeling where i realized I've just wasted $10.50 and an hour and a half of my life.

not to sound pseudo-intellecutally superior to anyone but I've never watched a movie that I just never got. we attribute our own experiences to try to understand a movie and even if the movie's objective is to not make any sense, I think our personal experiences will create meaning for the movie. I've always understood what I wanted to from a movie and that's all I could ever hope for.

I totally am the same, I have seen some relative confusing movies, but it wasn't like I have no idea whats going on, it was rather this was made in a poor way. I watched the Good Shepard and my friend had no idea what was going on, and I knew what was going on yet I agreed that the movie didn't make its plot clear.

um.. might be some spoilers..

to me, i understood requiem for a dream as a comment on addiction. each of the characters were addicted to something (drugs, tv, etc.) and it ended up messing them up physically and mentally.. the movie doesnt end on a good note at all.. i still liked it though

Inside Man???

Without spoiling anything The theme of the movie was pretty much human perception and letting things get in the way of what you want. The ending pretty much explains itself.

Now Beloved....what the fuck was that all about?
