That movie is wild. Brad Renfro was a talented actor, it's too bad he passed away a few years ago from drugs.

i watched DRIVE over the weekend. Pretty good b-movie/crime. A little slow & artsy at moments, but I'm usually down with that. Good L.A. movie. My only criticism is the main character had no in-between time when going from normal guy to killing machine.

also re-watched GODFATHER II .... I don't know how many times i've seen it but it still has the power to impress.

the trailer doesn't do it any justice. i think it's the best movie i ever seen, the one surreal masterpiece i was waiting for - like watching a daydream.
if you appreciate 2001: a space odyssey, you'll love it.

The Thing, not a bad prequel at all. didnt really like the alien ship thing, but overall kept the idea of the original pretty well.

Hesher. Wilson and Levitt killed their roles, the movie was well acted as a whole really, but that shit had 0 direction. It was like, just a bunch of sad shit with funny ass Hesher stories interspersed in between the sad shit. I really did feel sorry for that kid though. Little nigga got shitted on at every corner of life.

Went and saw Moneyball last night. It was a really good movie. Made you appreciate baseball more and im not even a fan. Brad PItt did his thing, Jonah Hill did too. The ending was hella emotional.

Drive- Was really looking forward to this. Gosling is perhaps my favourite young actor and it looked like it was going to be a very stylish slick film. Unfortunately that's all I got. The opening getaway scene was brilliant visually and that continued till the end. However in terms of substance it was missing something. I never really cared for the characters. Gosling acted well but I feel the character was all wrong. I understand he was meant to be some sort of 'man with no name' 'mysterious' character but the length of time it took him to reply to stuff just made him look stupid, rather than bad ass. The first half was brilliant. The film was set up brilliantly with the two main characters relationship developing but really didn't build on that.

Overall. Visually stunning, soundtrack brilliant and it had the making of an excellent film. Executation was off though. 6/10

Can't wait for The Ideas of March though. Clooney/ Gosling/ Seymour Hoffman. Great cast
