saw this last night
festival.sundance.org/2009/film_events/films/clone_returns_home
and was really impressed. not just because it was japanese and sci-fi, but i thought it was a really well done film. it's kind of a shame, but it's like it's almost become a trait of older movies that everything that's brought up in the film, from the dialogue to the sounds and even what's in the background, is actually there for a reason, not just because it needs to be. watch it when you get the chance.
Vicky Cristina Barcelona
and
The Diving Bell and the Butterfly
i really liked both of these. still can't get over the scene with penelope charging in with the gun

and i saw diving bell again pretty recently, crazy story, amazing to think that that happens to people.
Stranger than fiction- I watch this movie probably once a month, each time i see it i like it more and more.
stranger than fiction really is a pretty perfect movie, that gets overlooked a lot i think because it is a comedy and it doesn't get seen as anything more than that, but it really has just about everything a good movie should.
not sure how i haven't seen chinatown, but it looks like it's worth the time.
