I had only seen bits and pieces of the bootleg before but I watched it legit last night.
And damn.....all I gotta say is what an emotional movie. I know they put extra on him and his relationship with his family to add to feeling for the main character but damn this movie was very realistic and authentic to a day in the life living in the Bay Area at that age. And being it's based on a real event it doubles the impact of the movie. If you have'nt seen it I suggest you see it. Great movie. Well acted. Sad situation. The end almost made a dude wanna shed one.

It's a must. They shoot shots all over the Town & they hit up Frisco for the New Years Fireworks.

I didn't think the movie was that great at all. All the events of that day are way overly fabricated in the movie all in the name of trying to purge some sort of emotional guilt, pity or sympathy for the main character.

They are dominating because we just cant give enough attention to others films.

Tbh, theres a theater near my home, and only 25% of the films shown are "blockbusters".

Plus you guys in Denmark have a lot of "auteurs". Trier, Vinterberg, Winding Refn among a lot of others.

Some cops are cool; others are not. Not all of them are bad.

Watched it the other day. Just when Oscar was maturing and trying to do the right things his life gets taken away. He could have been alive today if the police weren't assholes.

The actress that played his BM's tho
Melanie Diaz. She's in a lot of  independent films. She had a small scene in the last episode of Girls. Check out "Raising Victor Vargas" with Victor Rasuk, "Itty Bitty Titty Committee", "Remember the Daze", and "American Son".

Craziest part to me was that it was his Mom's B-Day the day before. Great acting throughout the whole thing loved how they used bay area rappers and slang to make it authentic
