Should I fully watch Dragon Ball before DBZ?

yo, i have no problem watching DB (i;ve watched 16 eps already), but what I really want to watch is DBZ. I just don't wanna watch 150 episodes before watching what I really want.
Is it needed?
I know my general stuff, but am i gonna miss out on character relations that arent explained in DBZ?

No its not needed. You'll be able to follow DBZ just fine without seeing DB although DB is really fun to watch and some people actually like it better than DBZ. The whole series is brilliant imo.

It IS needed actually.

If you don't watch DB, you won't really know the hierarchy of Piccolo. Goku/Krillin/Master Roshi/Yamcha/Tien/Puar/Chi-Chi/Oolong and Bulma's history together.

Goku save Chi-Chi's father in Dragonball with the Bansho Fan

Tien hated Goku in db

Dr. Gero was after Goku during Cell game because Goku destroy Red Ribbon army in DB.

Emperor Pilaf and Goku's history in DB, is what made DBGT...

...so yeah.

Depends on which dub you're talking about. But I do think that GT in any dub came before Kai in any dub. All I know for sure is the GT English Dub goes years back before the Kai English dub.

yea look at db first. dbz is overrated tbh ( after the cell saga the quality drops) . skip on gt and watch yu yu hakasho for an alternative ( not related to the dragon ball series but has the same quality, no excess talking during fights and longer tournaments then dbz )

I agree, DB was really underrated as a series. DBZ was great too but that shit dragged on for way too long sometimes..
