Columbia Pictures,Konami,and Hideo Kojima have confirmed that there is a MGS live action film in the works now with Avi Arad (Xmen,Ironman,Spiderman) in charge or production.

Hideo Kojima said he wanted Viggo Mortensen to play Snake a couple years back. Its been a some years since he made that comment though and Viggo isn't getting any younger. Only reason I could see it working is cause Viggo's played young roles and then played roles where hes old as fuck. That would work well for the huge age transitions between solid snake and big boss.

you know what would be totally randomly awesome? if Kojima brought in all of his pull with the latest and greatest technology in CGI and implemented it in the movie. then, you could potentially make.

his normal appearance would be the old Big Boss, and they'd CGI a younger and slightly altered version of his face for the Snakes.

yeah, just a crazy thought. that'd make me really respect this project though. it's the perfect blend of "video game movie". a movie based on a game using technology developed for the game itself.
