The Cabin in the Woods...

Has anyone seen this yet? By far the best horror film to date bar none. It did not let me down at all and it was a great way to pay homage to horror films. The acting was good for what i would expect from a horror movie but if you been thinking about checking it out go see it...

Yeah going to see it again tomorrow with a group of friends. They're all amped because all of the reviews of the movie has been high and positive all over. Crazy that the movie was actually finished in 09 and was shelved for so long only to be released now finally. Don't want spoil the movie but it has a shit load of twist...

-Loved how the film paid homage to all types of horror fiction. From typical hack and slash, supernatural elements, and cosmic horror ala hp lovecraft as seen in the old gods at the end.
-Amusing how character archetypes were blatantly apparent and used as a plot element.
-Whedon's wit and strong female character is present, naturally.
-The mashup of horror figures throughout the ages...anyone catch the hellraiser nod and quick shot of patrick bateman? Oh yeah, geek queen cameo at the end.
Fun movie, would watch it again

Yup also the Father with the Bear Trap was a homeage to Jason Voorhee's don't know if anyone caught that if you noticed how he tilted his head and whatnot. When they got in the elevator and had all that shit i was like are you fucking kidding me their leaving all this out. And then yeah that grand finale was epic...

Want to see this, but don't have anyone to go with. Might catch it on my own, like usual.

April 16, 2012 @ 20:28:02
really enjoyed this movie. Love how self aware the film was. check out some of the earlier posters for this movie when this film was sitting on the shelf...
April 16, 2012 @ 23:55:13
Ha shame that they shelved the movie back then i'm sure they will do a sequel due to how well it's being received...

^ nah, not likely... Joss and Drew were asked about a sequel at an early screening and they blew it off with a "did you not see the ending to my movie?" ... unless they're pushed into it by the studio. what i was thinking that i believe would be more accepted would be a prequel to the film. can't really have a sequel due to the ending, but a prequel seems alot more plausible and interesting, IMO.

for those interested, this is a real funny interview...

can you believe the coffee mug bong costed $5000 to make? lmfao crazy
April 17, 2012 @ 23:03:54
LMAO WTF... and yeah based on the ending i wouldn't expect a sequel but i meant like they're going to try and milk this just like any other movie that is a success...

Me and my friends went and we all hated it. When I go to see a horror movie I expect to get scared. I get what they were going for but geez this was one of the worst horror flicks ever. To me, it was more of a comedy.

When he be playin Scrabble that nigga gotta figure out how to make a word outta seven Ls
