I just got through with I SAW THE DEVIL. Good lord.
Then there's the usual suspects like the Vengeance Trilogy (Sympathy for Mr Vengeance, Old Boy, Sympathy for Lady Vengeance).

Even though most of these flicks go over two hours, they're well paced.

I'm sure I'm missing some movies, considering that was just off the top. Someone add to the list.

I just finished watching the Chaser on netflix and was about to post how good it was in the What The Last Movie thread when i saw this one. Anyway, that is probably the best movie i have seen this year. I cant even formulate my thoughts into words on how good it really is.

Let's talk about the wardrobe planning for Korean movies. The actors/actresses are in actual made-to-fit pieces. Protagonists in the violent films are usually suave and swagged out to the 100 million with crazy ass slim biker jackets and whatnot. The Japanese are always wearing super oversized baggy gay shit that looks like pajamas and in Chinese flicks even the dudes look like hair dyed eurotrash beach hookers. I think it's great that Koreans (in their movies at least) aren't all about superficial aesthetics. cool

I fvcking love Korean cinema. My favorite director is Kim Ki-duk. Check out his films The Isle, Bad Guy and Address Unknown. I love all his stuff tho. Chan Wook Park is swag as well, I think he might have peaked with Lady Vengeance tho. Also check out Princess Aurora if you get the chane, I forget the lady who directed it, but she played the mother in Address Unknown and its great.
