This week's film is Dear Zachary: A Letter to a Son About His Father and was chosen by dalek. It's an American documentary, created by Kurt Kuenne.

Summary:

Kuenne's close friend Andrew Bagby was murdered by Shirley Jane Turner after Bagby ended their tumultuous relationship. Shortly after she was arrested, she announced she was pregnant with Bagby's child, a boy she named Zachary. Kuenne decided to interview numerous relatives, friends, and associates of Andrew Bagby and incorporate their loving remembrances into a film that would serve as a cinematic scrapbook for the son who never knew him.

(Sound seems to be a bit out of sync but it might just be me)

And apparently it's also on netflix instant watch.

I'm very interested in this film/documentary, don't know the story behind it but it's something different from the other films we've watched so far. So post any of your thoughts on the film in this thread.

Thanks.

If you watch this and it doesn't hit you hard, I question whether or not I can call you a human being.

Despite of all the tragedies. Kate and David kept went on and fought and never let the devil win them over.

For that, I have a very strong admiration for them.

The movie also made me realized that NOBODY SHOULD EVER EVER UNDERESTIMATE THE POWER OF LOVE.

+Lil off topic, but I found this picture on tumblr not so long ago and I'd like to share it with y'all.

LOVE CONQUERS ALL. BELIEVE IT

*I like to say thank you to dalek for recommending this because it made a huge impact on me personally.

The amount of emotions that go through me when I watch this is astounding. I remember the first time I saw it, I felt like I was hit in the stomach with a sledgehammer. I think I was too floored to even cry. I cried a lot more the second time.

Thanks.

I think that's the overwhelming feeling during the first viewing. But, watching it a second time and knowing what happened, everything had so much more meaning.
