how come there was no gravity in the first two dreams, but in the snow area (deepest/third dream) gravity existed?

there was gravity in the 1st dream.

the non existent gravity in the 2nd dream was due to the gravity of the 1st dream.

the gravity in the 3rd dream, was due to being a 3rd dream.

MAKES SENSE

actually this is a really good point.

The first level was yusef's dream in which they drive off of a bridge. while the car is in midair, arthur feels the effect of weightlessness thus everyone in his dream (level 2) is floating in the air. the third level was eames' dream. they should have all been floating (or something) in there.

if the movement in yusef's dream affected the physics of arthur's dream. then the movement of arthur's dream should have affected the physics of eames' dream.

did anyone feel like it was all just cobb's imagination that was just giving him some hope and adventure? i felt like the whole movie was this "mission" that his mind gave him to entertain himself and make him believe it was possible to see his family again, but in actuality the dream was just tricking him.

The movie had lots of inconsistencies due to the fact that it is a movie. Makes it hard to really analyize the story.

A book maybe?

Leonardo DiCaprio has done a fantastic job in the movie, previously i was thinking that he can do good only in romantic movies but after watching him in Inception i admitted that he can even do it in Thriller movies.

Dec 6th? Funny cause I saw 'Get Him To The Greek' same weekend as I saw Inception and that's already out. 2.5 months after I saw it.

Get Him to the Greek opened almost a month before Inception did and didn't have the staying power that Inception did at the box office. And movie companies tend to hold popular movies longer.

Oh I know, just curious as to why they do hold them longer.

Dom didnt care to watch the top spin in the end, which pretty much can mean that he either did not care he was dreaming anymore or he was out of the dream. His step father being there though makes it clear that the dream is over. because if anyone actually looked at it the right way his step father technically orchestrated the inception on Dom and him being there thus ends the dream.

Yes. This is the point of the top still spinning at the end. Nolan did it not to make you question what state he was in but to show how little Dom cared about it now that he finally got to see his kids.

I do agree that Nolan left the top spinning and had Cobb walk off without looking because it would imply that all that mattered was that the inception on Cobb to release his guilt had worked and that he could see his kids. What state he was in didn't matter to him because he was freed from the guilt, and he was going to be able to enjoy his life whether it was a dream or not. But as it's been confirmed, he was indeed awake. But Nolan definitely did leave the top spinning to plant some doubt within the audience too. Without that doubt, audiences might not have been so wrapped up in the movie and ending long after it was over. But like I said, I agree with the first part, although I think both intentions were there.

I think the entire movie is a dream sequence that Leonardo DiCaprio's character has in the womb of his mother before he is born. His life has not even started yet. Run and tell that homeboy.
