Wow. 5.3 million viewers.

I guess my fears about the marketing was wrong.

I'm sure that number will go down, I just hope not by a lot.

I think the show nailed it. The first episode does a great job of getting the tone of the comic that this is about people, not zombies. The characters were pretty good matches to the comic equivalents, right down to the clothes. Looking forward to seeing how it develops.

And yeah, the wife seems like a bitch.

Hope that second episode starts with some serious zombie massacre, dead rising stylesmokeyface

Don't keep your hopes up, not what Walking Dead is about at all. It takes all the fun out of the zombie apocalypse.

That's like having to fight a lion every time you to want to have sex or make a sandwich. Actually, it's worse than that: Most top predators are only armed with teeth and claws, meaning they have to put themselves in harm's way to score a kill. Humans have rifles.

TWD is on at 10PM on AMC. I'm not sure if anything is on before that. I do know that Mad Men had that spot over the Summer though.

SOA is on tuesdays. in other news, people shocked by the level of violence amc will allow TWD to get away with on a TV-14 should probably see Supernatural on the CW.

i noticed that you never see the zombies actually eating the horse. i'm yet to rewatch, but it looked like they were just pulling out its guts and holding them close to their faces without ever shoving any of it down. i wonder if this means they're not allowed to show zombies eating living things. maybe graphic violence is more acceptable when it's applied to monsters?

lol i'm sure it'd just be like something covered in corn syrup. otherwise how would they be able to show monsters eating people on supernatural?

first episode was sick.. literally can't wait for the next one, and the one after, etc. too bad the black dad and his son probably won't have much if any more screen time. listed as supporting cast. too bad, i liked them (no homo)

Sorry about that. It's kinda hard not to, but I'll try to refrain. Or at least make it clear that its a spoiler.

So I just watched it again, and I take back what I said about the violence. It's way more detailed and prolonged than Supernatural.

The episode itself was better when watched with other people. It could've been more subtle, in both dialogue and cinematography (I can't elaborate, it just seems more forced/inconsistent in a jarring way than with Mad Men or Breaking Bad).

As far as pilots on AMC, it's better than Mad Men's, but not as good as Breaking Bad's. I lol'd when they were taking a shower. And I'm more okay with the accent than I was before; I've gotten used to Charlie Hunnam as Jax on Sons of Anarchy, so I think I can get used to Andrew Lincoln as Rick.
