I can't find this anywhere on the AMC website, so I'm linking to io9.

Just about a month away!
AMC plans a rather ambitious promotional stunt to promote The Walking Dead.
The cable network is staging "zombie attacks" in 26 major cities -- hundreds of extras in zombie makeup roaming landmarks such as the Brooklyn Bridge in New York City, the Lincoln Memorial in Washington D.C., Big Ben in London, The Prado Museum in Madrid.
The stunts will commence at daybreak in Taipei and Hong Kong on Tuesday, Oct. 26 and moves across the globe during a 24 hour period and culminates at the show
I'm probably nitpicking here, but I still say they're marketing it wrong. They need to market it as a drama with zombies. Not zombies with drama. Big difference and I think all the focus on the zombies in the marketing is going to turn off casual viewers.

it COULD work out well, like with lost. lost was marketed as a survival thing, like castaway or lord of the flies of gilligan's island, but then it kinda snuck up on you with character-driven stuff and the occasional sci-fi overload.
i know back in 2005 when lost launched in the uk, i started because it looked epic, like a survival drama, with planes exploding and polar bears. turned out to be something else entirely.
and now you will wait 2 weeks for another episode. i'ma catch up on the book around january. tired of reading each month to find it has moved an inch.
