It sure seems that way! I thought the first episode was aight. So now we know three of the six people that got off the island (Jack, Kate, and Hurley). What i don't understand is how did Hurley get rescued when he decided to roll with Locke? Also the funniest part of the episode was when Hurley tried to run from the cops.

So I'm surprised no one has talked about Jacob! I suspected it all along, Jack's dad Christian Sheppard is definitely Jacob! You can clearly see him rocking in that chair when Hurley peered thru. If Hurley can see him, does that mean he's special too?

After Locke threw the knife at Naomi, he went back to Jacob's cabin and talked to him. That's why you see an eye thru the glass that freaked out Hurley. Jacob is definitely Christian Sheppard. How they will fit this in the timeline is beyond me.

Maybe he got there after his death in Sydney? But what makes him so special that even Ben reports to him.

My thoughts on the 6 are: Jack, Kate, Hurley, and Claire. If Desmond's vision was right then Claire must have been rescued as well.

i highly doubt that jacob is jack's father.

i remember their being a huge theory on it being bens funeral at the end of last season. however, i'm starting to think that it was locke's, seeing as it's quite apparent that locke and jack are no longer "friends".

True it might not necessarily be Jack's father, but he was definitely in Jacob's cabin when Hurley peered thru. Along with Locke's eye peering back at Hurley. I watched it in slow motion, you see him in the chair where Ben was talking to him.

I'm sure jack's dad was missing from his coffin in season 1 or 2, what if Jacob is using it?!

^valid point. i found a screen cap of the man in the chair and it's pretty clear that it is jacks father.



we also don't know for sure that the eye in the cabin was locke's. it very well could have been jacob's.

i've always wondered about the "ring" that surrounds the cabin. i've come to think that ben may have placed it there to trap jacob and the "whispers" (or dead dharma employees).

i've got to disagree with you on that one. i am pretty confident it was michael's funeral. 1)the newspaper clipping jack looked at said from new york. aka michael's hometown. 2)the clipping also said he was survived by his teenage son. aka walt. 3)might sound ignorent. but the funeral home was in an all black neighborhood.

yeah people thought it was Ben's funeral, the person's name was in the newspaper, and if you google it you get some philosopher, and people linked it to Ben.

got into it about a year ago and am absolutley 100% obsessed with it. amazing show. amazing writing. keeps you guessing. people that aren't watching dont know what their missing.

very clear that jacob is christian. or jacob took over his body. i wonder what hurley/jacks convo was about when jack asked hurley 'if he told them'. if they go back to the island. etc, etc.

I don't think Hurley's banana's the island wants them back and its manifesting In hallucinations for him. Jack wants back, and says they weren't meant to leave (bearded time line), and Hurley does too.

The whole situation between Hurley and Locke is messed, cause people from opposing teams left somehow.

Jacob using Jacks father body makes perfect sense. If Locke can walk then its quite possible jacks dad is partially alive through Jacob.

The whole ish is up in the air for me, but props to the Jack dad is Jacob theory.

To add to my thoughts Hurley not being bonkers.

Thinking back there were a handful of characters saw dead people on the island who's to say the island doesn't have that kind of power in the "outside" world. The agent that came and visited Hurley threw me way off, I still don't know what he really wanted from Hurley other than information on who if there were others on the island still. It was really random id like to know who sent him the organization behind it all.

Locke can walk, Jacks dad is alive. Maybe in exchange for revival there body/body (parts). Theres a pact made with the island to stay on the island and loyal to it. I mean jack did see his dad walking around who's to say the island didn't bring him back to life.

it obviously has some sort of healing power, but the power to bring back someone from the death seems a little mehh. What i have gotten from the fact that they recruited juliet, is that they have people on the mainland. and that dude was tryin to figure out if his homies were still alive.. because they cant communicate with their dudes on the island. and it seems that the island had locke do it.. they blew up the farm, the underwater station. idk ughh

I'm pumped for next week's episode. All these revelations keeps throwing out my theories. After the last episode, Jack probably struck a deal to get off the island and now has to work with whoever allowed him to get out *uniform resemblance between black dude and jack and the interrogations*. What i really want to know is, who exactly was Kate referring to when she says she had to go back? My brothers thought she was referring to Sawyer but I don't know.

The theory about bringing back the dead is possible. As i recall, i could've sworn Mikhail had died at least 2 times but yet he always pop up. Also, Locke mentioned that "nothing is buried on this island" so who knows?

As for Jacob, I don't know what to really say. The only thing thus far that i know about Jacob is the fact that he mentions "Help me" to Locke and he possesses some power. It could be possible that Locke is Jacob's new representative as how Ben was to the others. I do like the theory about being loyal to the island. I mean, John can walk, Sun's having a kid, Richard's ageless, Mikhail incredible luck. Don't you find it funny how the Oceanic 6 lives are disoriented after they are off the island? But anyway, the things that has thrown me off so far are: the whole "do you think they're alive" talk, Jacks' father image, and Hurley saying "I shouldn't have gone with Locke".

i say that Sawyer is one of the oceanic 6. This is because I think he and Kate will get seriously together, and remember in the last episode of season 3 Kate said something that "I should go, He is waiting for me". Other than Jack, Kate, Hurley and possibly Sawyer, I'd say that the other two might be Ben and Claire/Sayid/Desmond.

My guess is that they are talking about going back because for some reason, only 6 were able to escape and they had to leave the other survivors behind..

Blah, too much to think about. Great season opener!

the only problem i have with the jacob/sheppard theory is that the first time locke and ben went to jacob's cabin, locke couldn't see jacob (we could via screen caps later). This time around, there was clearly someone (actually 2 people) in the cabin.

Don't know if it means much, but i would assume that if Jacob was going to "grab" sheppard's body, then we would have done it before we were to ever get a glimpse of him.

well it was definitely sheppard, and i have the first sighting of Jacob you are referring to aswell

perhaps characters see jacob in a form meaningful to them? i dunno maybe hurley met jack's dad or something..
