that movie actually looks really good... it doesnt follow the plot of the original game, but what they started with in that first 7 minutes looks awesome. IMBD says its coming out in 2013, kinda dont believe that.

Pretty sure this is just a spec short to see if they can procure funding for a full-length. There's definitely something behind it. Michael Jai White's got a lot of clout right now due to the success of Black Dynamite and Jeri Ryan's definitely not an A-lister but she's certainly a biger name than anyone in the original Mortal Kombat at the time of it's release. Plenty of real martial artists too like Lateef Crowder.
