I thought Paranormal Activity was scary but I saw it in a somewhat empty theater. I imagine the surround sound and being 1 of a dozen people would be different than watching it at home. :-/

^ I can't believe you didn't think Strangers was scary. It made me feel like as if it were a real life scenario for me.

One movie that I seen a few months ago that scared/grossed the shit out of me was Martyrs... Watch that, you wont be disappointed.

Yeah dude, Martyrs was FUCKED up!

the sequel to exorcisim of emily rose called "Exorcism: The Possession of Gail Bowers (2006)" was really scary. i watched the first half hour in broad daylight, and i was freaking out. and i have watched my fair share of horror movies.

A movie that will scare you most likely does not exist. If you're like me and watched a boat load of horror flicks and never been scared, it probably does not exist. If you name it, I've probably seen it. Just give up and just watch them for entertainment (the old ones). Newer horror flicks lack a good story and what's it called....hmmmm....uhhhhhh... entertainment? The best horror flicks in my opinion are w/ zombies (dont watch any new George A Romero flicks though). His new movies are corny as hell.

I think the best zombie movies are the ones that focus on the people who are alive as opposed to the zombies. I've never been scared during a zombie movie. But I love them.

Dalek got it right. I guess it's the intensity in the survival that is entertaining. The simplicity of getting infected by a single infusion of blood while being up against the whole entire world is gripping. Plus I love the idea that they can do whatever they like when the whole world is in chaos.

What's your taste in horror? Could you also tell me which zombie movies you're referring to? I know there are some with terrible acting that makes it so cheesy, but others are more exciting.

I used to work at a movie theater when the Ring came out... that fuckin movie screwed with my head so damn much!! I swear I over thought about the movie and the scrambled tape, etc etc.
I used to HATE HATE HATE! - having to go into the theater and clean late nights when the theater was all empty and it was just me and the big screen.
I used to think that the big screen would just turn on and be all scrambled or that I'd walk in and see the girl and her head of hair sitting in the front row just sitting there patiently until I turned around and then she'd be right behind me!! FUCKCKCKCKKKCKK I hated that movie!
I finally saw the japanese original sometime after the Ring, but the US adaptation had me creeped.
