Eckhart Confirms No Two-Face in The Dark Knight Rises

He looked at me and he said, 'No.'" He added that he wasn't joking about the beach part and said that they "found ourselves alone on the beach together on a stormy day and he delivered the news to me. I was heartbroken. But Chris has his reasons and my life must go on... Honestly, it was Heath's movie to go on. We had a great movie. I'm so honored to be a part of that movie."
Dec 03, 2010 @ 22:21
well he was dead after all...

Dec 04, 2010 @ 03:48
^ For real. Who the fuck expected Dent to be in the 3rd?

I swear fanboys get annoying after a while.
Dec 04, 2010 @ 06:11
They didn't make it 100% clear that he died did they? Maybe they did and I can't remember, but I thought it was always just presumed.
Dec 04, 2010 @ 13:33
^ Well, he was looking pretty dead when he fell off that building at the end of TDK.
Dec 04, 2010 @ 14:14
Oh yeah, shit. It's been a while since I watched it lol. But there must've been some reasoning behind Eckhart's thinking that he may have been in Batman 3.
Dec 04, 2010 @ 15:07
^ I think he wanted to branch off as just Two-Face.

He had this reasoning that Harvey Dent died, not Two-Face. But knowing Nolan, I'm pretty sure he wouldn't go back to that story.

Besides, this is the last of the trilogy. We need some new characters and finish it off with a bang.

This could all be a steaming pile of bull. It could also be true, but maybe the script is being overhauled and this stuff won't ultimately matter. We'd ask Christopher Nolan, but he's not exactly on our speed dial and doesn't seem to return our calls. That said, the scuttlebutt online today is that the script for The Dark Knight Rises has several villains in it, including one character who is a composite of two Bat-villains.

ScriptFlags claims that "an actual script has been forwarded to us entitled The Dark Knight Rises and if it is fake, its the best fake we have ever come across. 165 pages long dated October 2010 and written by Jonathan Nolan & David Goyer with story by Christopher Nolan. Its is a seriously well constructed and contained work that bears no traits normal fakes harbor." They also add, "One has also to consider that if this is in fact authentic, its not a finished draft which was completed up to 4 months later in January this year. The jury is truly out."

The rundown the site provides is very detailed so, if the script they've read is the real deal, these are pretty big spoilers ahead.

The biggest and most surprising claim is that "Nolan it seems has merged the character of Hugo Strange together with Edward Nashton [Their is no reference to The Riddler and he makes no appearance in the film as Nolan previously admitted but Nashton does] Nashton like Hugo Strange figures out Batman's identity and toys with him."
Here are some other highlights:

There's no Catwoman, but Black Mask plays a supporting role and Talia Al Ghul makes a "brief" appearance.
The story's other major villain is Deadshot, aka assassin Floyd Lawton, who has been busted out of prison in Europe and smuggled into Gotham by a secret underground cabal dubbed "The Society" to kill Batman.
The other female lead is a Detective Adams, who helps Commissioner Gordon in his task force to capture Batman. ScriptFlags claims that Gordon's plotline closely mirrors that of his arc in the graphic novel "Prey." But here's one BIG HINT that this whole "script leak" could be bogus. There's a female GCPD detective named Adams who appears in this Batman fanfic.
There's a new Batmobile, as well as a Bat-aerial assault craft dubbed The Wraith, which has a 40' wingspan.
Black Mask is allied with Roland Daggett, CEO of Daggett Industries, whose lawsuit against is taking quite a toll on Wayne Enterprises and Lucius Fox, in particular. Roland Daggett debuted on Batman: The Animated Series, where he was basically the Lex Luthor/Norman Osborn of Gotham. He ran a pharmaceutical company and was behind the creation of Clayface, and was also connected to Hugo Strange at one point.
Wayne Manor has been rebuilt and a new Batcave has been constructed.
Batman keeps a pretty low profile in Gotham now, due to the effectiveness his presence has had on crime in the city.

The Dark Knight Rises starts filming this spring.

yeah so it could be bs but it sounds pretty cool. check out that prey comic it's sick

I wish a Dark Knight Returns movie was made when Clint Eastwood was in his 50s or 60s.

Wouldve been the greatest film ever made.

Jan 12, 2011 @ 01:38
^ Nah, man, Depp won't be in this. I can almost 94% guarantee he won't.

I say "Edward Nashton" is Tom Hardy, who was already cast in this movie. I doubt he's going to play Deadshot or Roland Daggett.

But still, that's a lot of villains. What the fuck?

i can see tom Hardy playing deadshot over the riddler. he's more of an action guy.

Jan 12, 2011 @ 21:49
Yeah I would like Christopher Nolan to do a different approach on a new villain that we haven't seen in a batman film before.
