In the comics he was raised in prison and became a genius by reading everything the library had to offer. Once given venom he became the hulking crazy guy, but still crazy smart.

like they said though they wanted things more realistic to real life, including the cars and the villains. i feel a legit batmobile would seem kind of gimmicky in this series of movies since the setting is real gritty, and a batmobile just reminds me of the toy car kids can get at the store

Oh yeah and a huge ass tumbler makes much more sense... Yeah.... I can get a tumbler at the toy store too

but it was supposed to be for use in the military (real life) as opposed to a batmobile which is supposed to be used for...
