^ LOL. I'm honoured, sjem.

If you need something that's kinda long-running, try Battlestar Galactica. I hated the ending, but the rest is gold.

I'd definitely second watching Californication. It's like Entourage in a way, but better and more focused on one character. There's only like 3 12-episode seasons as well, so that's considerably shorter than BSG.

Erm, what else... Sons of Anarchy. There are others, but they're harder to get into, and I only really like them cos I've been watching them for a longer time (stuff like Lost, Supernatural).

OH, Parks & Recreation/The Office. The Office will take forever, though, like BSG. And of course, Arrested Development. I don't wanna oversell it, but Arrested Development is to sitcoms what The Wire is to drama.

Which brings me to my last recommendation. WHY IS THE WIRE NOT ON THAT LIST?

I always thought Mad Men was kinda overhyped. The events are soap-like, but the plot moves sooooooooooo slowly. I'm just now getting into Party Down, though.

Someone that thinks TV is over saturated with mindless drivel. Good writing leads to good acting, dialogue and entertainment. I like or value good writing and dialogue.

True Blood also was adapted from the Harris series of Sookie Stackhouse stories, so it was originally writing that spawned its creation.

To each his own when it comes to TV and entertainment.
