The first 15 minutes of Saving Private Ryan is amazing, but I'm gonna have to go with Apocalypse Now.

Apocalypse Now. From the Opening scene with the helicopter/fan while playing The Doors- This is the end.(Starts it off perfect) Till the end with Brando. Amazing.

Apocalypse Now for me. I'd say Full Metal Jacket, but it's not really a war movie per se.

that first part of SPR was groundbreaking. the way speilberg shot that, with the shaky camera and the sound of bullets whizzing by. that wasn't done before this movie. and it seems almost every war scene now implements the techniques used here.

plus i remember when the movie first came out, some veterans had intense emotional reactions to that scene b/c it brought them back to when they were in war.

now that's an amazing job.

this. and apocalypse now, my nigguh larry fishburne wus jus a child

Brotherhood of War (Tae Guk Gi), the Korean movie in question, is really good, but the CGI is absolutely awful. The Coast Guard and Welcome to Dongmakgol are also good Korean War/conflict movies.

Band of Brothers is the ultimate.

Apocalypse Now, Hamburger Hill, Platoon, 84 Charlie MoPic(seriously, find this one), FMJ, SPR, Schindler's List, Downfall, The Last Battalion, A Very Long Engagement.

Worst ever was Passchendaele.
