haven't seen a thread on this, apologize if it already exists. or if this is old news. everyone HATES old news apparently.

Spider-Man franchise is getting rebooted with a new director and a new cast.

They've picked the director: Marc Webb - 500 Days of Summer (o_O)a

yet to pick the new peter parker/spider-man. thoughts?

they're shooting for a teenager and making the movie more of a "teen drama"

oh gods.

anyways, alot of buzz for anton yelchin aka Chekov aka Kyle reese

marc webb is a good choice of director however I can see sony messing this up. they're only making it to hold onto the franchise and to try to make a quick profit. with a budget of only $80 million (under 1/3 of spiderman 3s cost) they're clearly following the twilight model.

jackson is only tied to marvel-owned films. sony has spider-man for the next 7 years or so, and 20th century fox has x-men.

they're prepping an x-men: first class movie. I forget the director.

ETA: Bryan Singer. Honestly, I thought X-Men 3 was better than the first one, at least. There are a lot of people, however, who don't share this mentality.

as for xmen, i don't remember which one it was either 1 or 2, but one of them was a bit more hardcore than the others. Wolverine would fuck dudes up and it would actually show fools getting stabbed and shit. 3 was gay and origins was homo.
