it's dead, no one would pick up a show that used to be on hbo. the only networks with that budget are other premium networks, who want to distinguish themselves from hbo, not have their sloppy seconds

i mean come on, i dont think it is so fucking expensive!!! i watch game of thrones, but one cannot compare budgets between those two shows... jesus christ noone can see that this show is so fucking great

its soundtrack, the fact it films on location in new york, the fact the entourage crowd didn't latch onto it AND the critics were so-so on it; most low-viewed hbo shows like treme and shit get praise out the ass - i loved the show in season 2, but i can see why they did it

the show was bad. Like I said earlier in this thread, after the end of season 1, Season 2 would make or break the show. Shows like Entourage, True Blood, etc had classic 2nd seasons which brought fairly good shows to GREAT status.

How to Make it in America had a 1st season, where fairly nothing happened, and a second season which was "good enough" but not great. The second season was about as good as the first season SHOULD have been, which isn't good enough for the 2nd season of a show.

I know it seems like i'm typing in circles here, but the show simply was just not good enough. It only appealed to a niche audience, which were hype-beasts. YOU GUYS represented were a large percentage of the types of people who watched this show, which unfortunately does not translate into the general tv audience.

If this show lacked the fashion references and had a slightly different theme, you'd see how bad it is, and how awful the acting is.

yep HTMIA was a good idea but it could of been done better. to be honest I think part of the reason the show failed is cause mark wahlberg didnt care for the show as much as he did with entourage.

The show failed because it was so forced. I would love to see this idea again, but a much more organic and natural approach.
