Film was amazing. It's definitely at the top spot right now in terms of best movie of 2009. It's a much more hip and revised take on the Star Trek series. It's a shoot first, talk later type of movie which probably won't bode well for the hardcore Trekkie fans. The whole Capt. Kirk underdog story element and how he ends up taking the reigns of the USS Enterprise is exactly what the movie XMEN Origins: Wolverine wanted to be, but failed. Spock vs. Kirk = very well done. And the cast was pretty spot on.. it's a very recent crop with many actors coming from modern teen flicks.
Disclaimer: There were waaaaay too many epic scenes in the film. I know the word epic is overused but damn.. no other word to describe it.
