Anyone have the specifics on Grade and Scale?
Also, info on the RX plx

I would think the order for grade is PG > MG? > RG > MG? > HG > NG

I get that 1/144 is tiny, 1/100 is however tall, and 1/60 and below are pretty fucking big, but any specific in cm/inches?

I haven't fucked with Gundam kits since collecting all the NG 1/144 Wing kits, and thinking about grabbing some. Looking at MG or the RG but i'm real turned off about the 1/144, but they look damn good, and i'd have two for the price of one.

If it was all stated before, i'll find it later I have to run for now.

that looks like a 1/60 perfect grade.youre right on the scale mostly although 1/00 ng's are pretty much as good as 1/144 hg's.this has been my experience so far with the 1/100 seed vs astray series.it all depends on the size the gundam was in its series because their size is determined by their size in the anime in real life measurements.but on average 1/144 is 4-6 inches,1/100 is usually around 8 inches and 1/60 is about 12 inches.real grades are about the price of a decent master grade though.hope this helps.

Haven't put on a real extensive search, but googling RG I came up with two Zaku II and RX78-2 in 1/144 for about 20-30 depending on the place and a possible third which is Aile Strike gundam. I don't know if they'll release anything in 1/100 I wish they did but i'll probably just cop these two for now. Can't find any MG's I really like other than the Crossbone.

Got any online sources for future releases?

RGs are MGs that are 1/144 scale so no point of releasing a 1/100 RG.

other than the link mr gibs posted, you can check various forums. also if you want gundam model specific news, type in gunpla instead. its more specific to the hobby than just gundam in general.

right now im going to branch out to Armoured Core kits (White Glint movie ver is first on my list) and HMM Zoids. and when Metabee comes out, better believe im getting that too lololol.

gunna wait till summer to work on gunpla because weather isnt suitable for painting right now.
just ordered sinanju with a resin conversion kit from tatsu hobby and metal detail parts, not gunna work on that till summer. I'll use this thread as a W.I.P.

Iunno, from the looks of it the RG "looks" better than the MG out of the box, and has more detail to show for it. Plus RG looks very similar to the 1/1 RX, and I guess the whole gimmick is the "real life" like feature, as if it were build now rather than anime/manga copy.

RG 1/144

MG 1/100 (which is looking lined and painted)

maybe i'm not looking hard enough

that could be because of all the extra decals they come with or the few extra panel lines.ive compared the real grade chars zaku with the jumbo grade and the jumbo has lots more panel lines for some reason.these are even bigger than perfect grade,1/48 scale,so extrapolate that.if you want your kit to have more detail you could always scribe more panel lines yourself.check out youtube.

the rx78 isnt the best one to compare scales with, since there are multiple variations of it, and with each variation, proportions and details get changed, a LOT.

theres the one year war version(the one you posted and what the 1/1 scale was roughly based on), animation colours 2.0, Ver. Katoki, 1.5 and the really old MGs. the decals that come with the RG RX-78 are limited to that kit i believe just to celebrate the 30th anniversary of gunpla

but in essence, RG is MG in 1/144 form because of the introduction of a full inner frame and MG like detailing. so really no point of a 1/100 RG. thats equivalent to saying 1/100 PG.

the scales are like this now:

Heavily Detailed/Inner Frames/Proper Proportions
PG 1/60
MG 1/100
RG 1/144

no inner frame/less detailing/less than accurate proportions
HG 1/144
NG 1/144 and 1/100
SD no scale.

im gunna be busy.

RG gunna be OoB, and I am loving every single part of this kit. it already looks good with just panel lining.

not sure if im gunna paint the zoids or leave em OoB, i really like the colours on the plastics they've used (a lot of metallics/pearlized plastic, i think i see some actual glitter/speckles in them, not sure though), but they need some serious detail painting.

the liger zero is definitely gunna get painted. i dont like the "gold" they use for the teeth and claws and the cream white they used. going to look for some pearl white spray paint at hobby stores. the other two im still debating on.
