hey guys,

eric (dude who owns corter leather) is going through some hard times with his cat who recently became ill with a neurological disorder that is hindering its ability to move or even stand. he's accepting donations and giving out his goods for cheaper than normal, and its for a great cause. $30 gets you a belt, and $10 gets you a bracelet.

im not gonna make any moves any time soon, but just wanted to say im plotting on starting a leather goods brand. Im a fashion major at MSU in jersey, would have gone to FIT but they have no track team (secondpassion). What do u yall think, over saturated market, or if im good just go for it?

That means nothing... But if its something u are passionate about go for it.. Dont come on a forum asking if its something you should do or not.. Over saturated market doesnt mean anything, people continue to put out good lines even with a very competitive market because they have a passionate for it.. Coming on to a forum asking, is basically second guessing yourself and about what u want to do.. IF u think u have good ideas and want to pursue it, go for it, maybe people will like what u put out..

no. corter sizes different then tanner. tanner uses a +2 grading scale so a 36 belt will be 38 inches to the center hole. corter will be 36 inches to the center hole on a 36 inch belt. i have both and have measured both.

youll be fine. corter belts are about 2 inches shorter then tanner but i wear the same size in both.

your belt will measure 31 inches to the middle hole.

im pretty sure im right, because i ordered my dad a belt before they redid the site, so they had the directions up. And they said TTS would be the middle hole. PM KYX on here he'll give you a straight answer when all else fails.
August 14, 2010 @ 14:50:03
Just got it. Looking to get a tanner belt next.

August 14, 2010 @ 15:44:41
went to the woodlands in portland and tried on a bunch of tanner. my true size is probably around a 32 but a 34 fit the best.
August 14, 2010 @ 22:23:18
ordered tts with corter and i'm only able to get into the second hole (struggling) so i've been using the first. i'd go up 2 inches.

don't forget to oil your products before you start using them. most of you dudes rocking leather goods are also denim heads, and your stuff will get stained. i've been using my corter setup for like a week, and it's got heavily stained from my jeans. i've got a obenauf's kit en route to apply to them which will darken + protect the leather from stains, dry rot, cracking, etc.

If you're getting a Tanner belt go up 2 sizes from your waist size. If you're a 32 get a 34. Trust me, I am a 34 & I ordered a 34 before & I had to pull hard just to get to the 1st hole, impossible if you sag, ended up selling it.
August 15, 2010 @ 13:54:09
^seems to be the standard, go up 2 inches like you would on a normal belt (if you want to buckle in the middle) if you want to use the first hole, go true to size.

You definitely don't need to treat the leather with anything. I think that using oil should be used in the event of cracking/dry rot to re-moisturize. If you use your denim products everyday and don't leave them to dry out, it's definitely something you shouldn't need to worry about. Whatever stains you have will just rub off or be covered over by the natural patina anyway; it's all part of the leather aging.
