here specifically is what im having done...tapered to 6.5 inch hem (about 16.5 cm) and hemmed to a 34...so below the knee should end up fitting like my black t-000 and above will be an unaltered slouch dior fit
Jan 09, 2009 @ 13:43
^i dig it ryan....definitely interested in seeing the fit when you get em back

should i soak my 19cm raws before i start wearing them?

will that help with the insane stacking be more settled?

i read something like that in the SEXI04 contest thread about FFF's jeans.

im 5'11-6' and the stacking is still quite crazy.

i dont really want to get them hemmed tho because i have another pair of diors which are hemmed.

honestly just hem them man...im 5'8 and a 34 inseam seems to be my sweet spot for a slim fit, 38 just looks sloppy on me

plus, they really arent gonna shrink that much, theyre sanforized
Jan 10, 2009 @ 03:01
i dont mean it will shrink the length, just help settle the stacking look.

also u said ur 5'8 with a 34 length.
since im 5'11-6ft, thats 4 inches taller, so 34 + 4 = 38 length for me.

haha

i guess thats a pretty good point, but it wont neccessarily hurt to hem an inch or 2
Jan 10, 2009 @ 15:52
Do not hem your diors, I'm also 6ft and they settled down quite nicely. The staking is supposed to be excessive so don't try to fight it.

this is not necessarily true...everyone who works in the dior store has their pair altered and dior provides tailors for a reason

i suggest if youre on the taller side, sure you may not have to hem them, but for a shorter guy, you lose the slim look with excessive stacking and they just look sloppy

Uhh...the guy I was talking to said he was 6ft which is not short therefor he should not have to hem like you just said. I wasn't saying that diors should never be hemmed, I was saying that guy should not hem his diors.

just trying to make the point that it is not a mortal sin to hem dior jeans...in most people's case, it makes them look better imo...but like i said, taller dudes dont always need to hem, just look at track
Jan 10, 2009 @ 18:36
ye guize luk @ mee!!!11
on the real though, i even get some pretty wild stacks when i get my sag on and im fucking 6'4 lol
Jan 10, 2009 @ 18:40
lol,

so the main question was will soaking help settle down the stacking and make it fall into place?

im not going to hem them, end of story.

i have a pair of 17.5cms hemmed so i wana keep my new pair with excessive stacking..
Jan 10, 2009 @ 19:09

Yes it will take away a lot of the starch and soften up the denim causing the stacking to fall into place. However it will also take away the sheen of the denim and some of the color, so it would be a better decision to just keep wearing them until they fall into place.

Jan 14, 2009 @ 04:46
ryan, do you wear any other pants with a 6.5" hem? i think it's too small for you, it's literally going to be skin tight around your calves...

also u said ur 5'8 with a 34 length.
since im 5'11-6ft, thats 4 inches taller, so 34 + 4 = 38 length for me.

being 4 inches taller does not mean your legs are 4 inches longer - 2 inches would have kept the same proportion as ryguy.

i just copped my 4th pair of diors this week - sold my old 19cm-MIJ (30" inseam - too short) and bought a new 19cm-MIJ (OG inseam), trying to decide if im gonna hem but i kind of like the OD stacks (i'm 5'9")

anyone want a pair of BNWT sz 27 black raws? they're tapered to 6" so they're cheap, hit me up...

my uniqlo t-000 are 6.5 at the hem and thats what im trying to model after below the knee...i have skinny ass calves man...theyre like disproportionate to my huge ass, but yeah, theyll probably be pretty tight, but the 34 inseam will detract from that

as a reference point, here are my t-000

Jan 14, 2009 @ 18:35
so how should i size on the 19cm chinos... my waist is a 28....
Jan 15, 2009 @ 15:05
i'd say stay 28, i don't see why the chinos would stretch, don't quote me though

i actually have a question of my own

I have a 19cm pair of Diors and I'm not sure of the wash. They were totally blue when I bought them and I thought I remember hearing one of the employees say they were not raw (NY store by the way) but then i went back and an employee said they were raw. They have faded a little bit, but I'd just like to know how I can tell if they are (were) raw or not. I washed them once in the machine, that wouldn't ruin it would it?
