Anybody have an idea if they usually carry the 19cm MIJs in boutiques? I'm from SF and I havent had the time to check if they actually do carry them in store. Last time I checked I was kinda in a rush and didn't really see a pair of raws.

And how would I know if it were MII or MIJ?

^ they should carry the MIJs in the boutiques, just give them a call. and the tag on the inside will say "made in japan" vs "made in italy"

barney's and sak's in beverly hills should both have a selection, as well.

how would you guys suggest i size on the dior denim "jake" wash? i love
how my APC petit standards fit me now... so if i'm a size 32" waist and am looking for a slim, tapered fit
should i purchase the size 33 (17.5 cm) pair or a size 31 (19 cm pair
and have them tapered) ?

Hey guys, so I've been searching for a pair of DH jeans in size 31 19cm. However, I've found that there are some discrepancies in the hem. How come I have seen some that have actual measurement of 7.5 inches while some others are 7 inches? Does the hem vary from season to season?

there are a number of different reasons.  the dior cuts are named such that they represent the leg opening of a size 32 pair, and they go +/- 0.5 centimeters for every size you go up/down, i.e a size 31 19cm cut should have a 18.5cm hem, a size 33 should have a 19.5cm hem, etc.  any other differences are because the length has been shortened (higher up on the jean is wider because they're tapered, hence the wider leg opening), the hem has been stretched (if they've been worn over bulkier shoes, for example), or they've been tapered further after the fact (leading to a smaller leg opening).

either that, or the person posting the measurements has no idea how to measure/are wrong about their pair of jeans being a 19cm cut (I've seen instances of people thinking jeans are 19cm, but are actually 21cm because the person they bought them from was clueless).  the cuts have not changed from season to season.

Thanks for the reply. Couple more questions: Are the thigh measurements of a 19cm and 17.5 cm pair the same? And how does the thigh of DH raw denim compare to Saint Laurent Paris?

sure thing.

the thighs of a 19cm pair start out roomier and then taper down, while the 17.5cm cut is a straighter cut overall, so the thighs are going to be slimmer.  I'm not sure of the exact difference, and I'm not sure how they compare to SLP because I've never owned a pair/seen a direct comparison, sorry.

you haven't looked that hard then, obviously.

luisa via roma stocks them regularly, check there every once in a while for a restock.

brown's fashion takes phone orders and ships overseas: http://www.brownsfashion.com/product/022H32650003/034/19cm-japanese-denim-jeans

sak's and barney's in manhatten both stock them and take phone orders, you can call there and have them ship to you.

dior homme flagship stores take phone orders, you can call them and have them ship a pair to you.  I would suggest the one in the wynn in las vegas.

also, there are plenty of people on superfuture that live in new york and would be willing to proxy a pair.

if you're not willing to place a phone order, you're going to have to make a trip to a dior homme flagship store, barney's/saks in la/ny, or wait until luisa via roma receives their stock from the new season.

next time, actually look around and read a couple pages of this thread/other threads before saying "I've searched all over and can't find anybody that sells dior homme."  it's obvious you haven't looked very much, if at all.
