anyone eyeing those darkclouds be warned, i own a pair. they have more of a greycast look in person. those pics make them seem to have a bit more indigo than they truly do. either way dope fucking jeans, i love my pair

They want $430 for the MIJ anyone think this a justifiable price at all ? I really want a pair and I could get them... But that price hike is a bit crazy IMO..They'll be like 460.

I'm sure HQ realized that the denim makes big profits for them... But they'll lose some big customers.. I know alot of people won't be paying 460 1-2 times a year for a new pair.

yeah brooklyn, i agree man. when i purchased mine they were being raised from i think 325 to 360 and i convinced the guy to sell me them in store for 325. i mean i understand the washed pairs get expensive but for a pair of raws $400+ is a bit steep especially when all things are considered. either way, i love the way diors fit my body personally, being 6'4 and slim theres no other jean as flattering. wifey just got me a pair of washed grey diors for xmas that i cant wait to get my hands on!smokeyface

I haven't ever owned Dior raws, but from discussion on SuFu, they're more comparable to APCs than any Japanese repro brand... and it's easy to get barely used raws in the marketplace for at most $200, I've seen so freaking many.

Scotty, I think the clawmarks are much more classic, but that's just my opinion. UMCs look pretty damn nice, too, but if I were in your position and they were at similar prices I'd get the clawmarks.

Lucky you ! I seen a few greys on sale 30% off at Saks this weekend... Damn idk I want to go for it... Not sure though... I went to Saks to buy a pair of MIJ on black friday when I got their an SA told me they had sold out. But he did suggest I try out Simon Spurr, he told me that Hedi and Simon worked together a long time ago, and their denim cuts are very similar didn't try it yet though...

Would the washed last longer ? My thing is 460 for a pair that could get a crotch rip in less than a year is wild... I'll go to the store and try them and everything and see but idk thats alot for something like raw denim... Shits going to rip in no time.. 460 is what you spend on a leather belt that will last you a life time... Not jeans that wont make it past 2 years of good use.... Shit wouldn't have been this bad if they were 460 from the jump I wouldve expected that.. But that was an unexpected and unnecessary price hike.

I've had clawmarks before but i had to part ways with them because i got back in shape and they didnt fit like they did before hand so i had to sell em.. reason im thinking on grabbing another pair but really liking the UMC's though.. Shit might grab both if the dude will work on the price for me... We'll see, might just ending up getting clawmarks again though cause i love the fit and wash..

imo Scotty, i'd go umc > clawmarks
also depends what year UMC's you mean too!

and for Brooklyn, i cant say too much for other people but ive had my dior raws for 2 years now and there isnt a single tear or rip in them. i know diors arent known for their durability, but speaking from my own personal experiences, i dont think youd be disappointed homie

they defs aren't upto repro standards in terms of construction.
but i've had mine about 2.5 years in rotation and only had 1 major crotch blow.
elsewise quality is good, no threads loose or anything.

I think if you want the fit more than the quality, suck it up and get MIIs. They cost like 25% as much.

$400+ for raws just isn't worth it IMO, I'd rather search around the forums for a huge discount or look at other brands. Fit on 19cm's are money but even spending $300 is a bit steep imo.

there are differences between the two.
ie. the back pockets are smaller on mij iirc?

I'm pretty sure basic silhouette and arctuates (dartuates?) are the same. Personally, I can live with different sized pockets if it'll save me $250 blushing

MIJ is a slimmer and has bigger pocket. The fit will also look different because of the use of different fabric.

I believe the MIJ have smaller pockets, and I don't know about them being slimmer, but I know the MIJ denim doesn't stretch as much.
