The 3sixteen & Self Edge Denim Contest

Since 3sixteen launched our denim at Self Edge a little under a year ago, we have sold hundreds of pairs of jeans to many satisfied customers. We decided to hold a denim contest in order to create a gallery of photos documenting the aging qualities of the denim. We announced this contest across all of the forum boards that we frequent and that support our businesses, but it is open to anyone who has put some serious wear into their SL’s or ST’s and want to show off their fades. All rules and details are below.

- All photo submissions are due by January 30th to denim@3sixteen.com. You can include fit pictures and detail shots, but submissions must be limited to 4 images. We will not judge e-mails that include more than 4 images. Also include a scan of your Self Edge receipt or your order number as proof that you purchased it from one of the Self Edge stores. You can also include information about your experience wearing the denim; how many soaks, where you traveled in your jeans, how you got that giant hole in the leg from dropping your bike, etc. Please include your name and your forum handle(s). We will be posting some of our favorite submissions across all the forums.

- 3sixteen and Self Edge will judge the submissions and will announce and notify the winner in February. The winner will be given one pair of jeans of his or her choice from Self Edge and a $200 gift certificate to shop.3sixteen.com.

Thanks for looking and participating everyone! Good luck!

Sizing
I usually wear 31x30 for Nudies SJ and Levis 514s. I'm thinking a 30 in the SL series would work for me?

I also called Self Edge SF just now and they said they're probably not going to restock any 30's until February and it looks like the 3s store is out too. Anyone know anywhere else I can look or will I have to wait for the restock?

Give SE NY a call, they'll probably have your size in stock, and they'll be ready to ship them out.

Thanks definitely will try that. My main concern is that I wanted to try on the jeans before buying to make sure I got the fit right since I was planning on having Self Edge hem them, making them un-returnable. Guess I could just buy them and exchange if needed.

If anyone can give me a sizing recommendation it be highly appreciated (just asked it like a post ago).

And just another question, anyone know where the 3s grey raw denim is sourced?

^. im pretty sure theirs no crazy sizing rules on 3sixteens.

straight leg is one down i think.

slim leg is true to size or one down for ballcrusher status(maybe your into that who knowsconfused

i think the greys are either some type of kalhaira or cone mills, check the s.e website to find out.

you can go true to size according to selfedge for the straightlegs, but down one would give you a slimmer fit

Size down 2, size how you would apcs before considering stretching (these stretch much less than apc, so do not go down 3 on any of the pairs). They're in many ways apc reproductions.

For me, they never stretched out nearly as badly as APCs from what I've heard from APC wearers.
Anyways...
6 months today.

Yeah, exactly. But the jeans are still vanity sized in the same manner, and have similar fits.

Thanks and I will!!smile

I was nervous about entering earlier because ktx? had his cone mill pair in and had already gotten a ton of work on his. I just hope I win so I can enjoy some of that 3Sixteen goodness that I always catch in those newsletters (as well as a new pair of jawns!)

So I'm really interested about grabbing a pair of these but I'm concerned about the sizing. I wear a size 34 in apc rescues but when checking selfedge they say the size for 34 is 35.5. Will these strech out to a 36-37? also hows the denim bleeding on these??

thanks in advance

If you're a 34 in APC you're a 34 in 3sixteen's jeans too.

Had to wash my SL-200X blacks a few days ago as they were starting to smell really really bad. Decided to do a hot wash to get rid of the dirt. For some reason the leather tag was ruined:

Anyone else had the same problem? The tag is completely ruined. I tried rubbing some oil on the tag if that would have helped but the tag just cracked..

Must've been hot water cause I didn't use a dryer.. I've washed other pairs with the same temperature but this hasn't happened before.

Already posted a few pages back. These actually shrunk quite a lot so I might take a new pic in a few days. The fit is even better at the moment IMO..

Tomoffin: that patch looks crazy. I'll chat with Tanner and see what they think... the color change might be due to how much the jeans bled but not too sure about the patch drying and cracking. Lets see what they say - patches do wear out over time, as leather is not indestructible. I guess you've been wearing these jeans hard! I would love to see pictures - hopefully you'll be sending some in for the SEx3s Denim contest.
